Jrue Holiday & Damian Lillard trade winners and losers: Celtics form superteam, Bucks further from championship

Just going to leave this trash article here. Small snippet of what it says:

“The Bucks did get better in trading for Damian Lillard. In that sense, it may be unfair to call them losers. But the gap between them and Celtics grew larger by the end of the week.”

Sure. It grew larger in the Bucks favor. Tatum and Brown are just as hot and cold as Jrue was from the field. If they are all going well in one night, yes, they won’t lose to anyone. But if even one of them has an off night and keeps chucking up 3s, then they’ll be the same team as last year without three very strong defenders

Don’t trust putting a lot of faith into Jrue Holiday which is why I’m thrilled to swap him with Dame.

He’s a great dude but with the playoff resume staring at me I can’t call him a difference maker. Boston may end up deciding to bring him off the bench.

ALSO there’s a big Jrue Holiday decision that needs to be made after this season. Do you extend him at 34 years old for $35-40m per year until he’s 37? Do you let him walk for nothing? He’s not going to take the PO if there’s more guaranteed money out there (there is). Happy the bucks don’t have to make that decision.

After reading this, I’m wondering if the Bucks should consider trading Dame straight up for Jrue.

It’s just so amusing see how much Jrue is valued now that he’s off the Bucks

I’ve been saying this since the Celtics trade. When you are relying on a 37 year old Horford and an injury prone KP to get through 82 games and a playoff run you are taking a huge gamble. Let alone trying to stop Giannis. So many “analysts” are just doing knee jerk reactions and not actually looking into the Celtics roster. Seriously, go look at the Celtics roster, outside of Jrue, JB, and Tatum they have huge liabilities on the court and no real depth off the bench besides Derrick White. Don’t let the national media fool you I’d say the Bucks and Celtics are pretty even taking into account actual roster talent and not just a quick look at the roster.

lol, is this how Celtics fans are coping?

  7. Blindeafmuten

We’ve seen this movie before with Brogdon trade that was supposed to destroy us.

The truth is that if the Bucks were named Lakers or Celtics, reporters would already be making comparisons with the greatest teams in basketball history.

  8. I could also make an article that says the Celtics are the same team as before except with one less DPOY award, Brogdon and Williams.

    Jrue=Smart
    Porzingis=Timelord

But that’s dumb and this article is dumber.

These people think hot takes are nuance and not the result of lead poisoning.

  9. Flooding_Puddle

What? The celtics are better with jrue instead of Smart, Williams and Brogdon? The dude that got cooked all playoffs? The national bias is insane

  10. National Media gotta get clicks by sucking Laker and Celtic dick.

  11. robin7214

From what I’ve seen from the blazer fans in recent days, dame responds to doubts in the media with stellar performances so please keep this coming

The one good thing about bullshit is you can smell it from a mile away.

  13. MandoRodgers

I liked Jrue, but I fail to see how the bucks getting Dame makes them the loser in the trade.

  14. SmellTheToastedBread

    Did Gery Woelful write this?

  15. Giannisisnumber1

Wait, so getting rid of all their depth and adding KP and Jrue makes the Celtics a super team but the Bucks getting Lillard doesn’t? lol

  16. PuggySmallz

I’ve gotten better ignoring NBA media. It’s all pointless, opinionated dribble.

If the Bucks traded for prime Michael Jordan, the media would figure out a way to re-calibrate his value and spin it to say we got worse.

  17. Shot-Statistician-89

I love articles like this. Gonna make the second round sweep of the Celtics so much sweeter, as Dame and Giannis alternate 50 point games.

Boston Media Mafia strikes again, what else is new?
Just remember this article after the Bucks win the championship 🥱

  19. Grumpy_Troll

So is “Sportingnews.com” like the Onion for sports journalism or do they just create the most clickbaity headlines to drive traffic, knowing full well they sound like a bunch of idiots?

  20. Is this not satire??? Lmao this article is so ridiculous

  21. Jabarles

Stephen Noh is a Bulls guy who has gotten into it with Bucks fans before. He’s a complete hack, literally not worth reading any of his trash articles.

  22. kharathos

Regardless of whether the Celtics got better or not, the Bucks’ off-season was a massive success. They brought a superstar level player in the role they’ve been hurting the most throughout the years that also completely compliments their own star player’s game.

On top of that they extended their current championship window and potentially tied Giannis to a contract extension.

There is no way you can call that a losing off-season

  23. LonelyRole8342

The media’s discussion about how Jrue for Dame was a bad trade for the Bucks is just insane

These people forget how us fans remember their names and measure their credibility when they write garbage like this

Jrue was great and I will miss him but Dame is a superstar. There is no comparison.

  24. Still crazy how Jrue’s gotten better in the week since we’ve traded him.

Giannis could average 40 pts 15 rebs against the Celtics in a 7 game series.
