A Semi-Comprehensive Overview of Viewing Options This Season

Like every other Suns fan, I’m incredibly grateful for Mat Ishbia’s efforts to make Suns games as accessible as possible for the fanbase. I did find it a bit complicated to make sense of the different options, though, so I wanted to put this together for both myself and others.

This is what I’ve gathered so far regarding options for watching games. Please point out anything I may have gotten wrong and I’d be happy to correct.

–All Suns games will be broadcast on one or more of: 3TV, AZFS (Ch. 44 OTA / Ch. 13 on cable), TNT, ESPN, or ABC

–For local fans who live in AZ, you should be able to watch all regular season games for free on 3TV or AZFS with an antenna, *with the exception* of 8 games that are broadcast exclusively on TNT or ESPN. 4 games are also exclusively on ABC, but an antenna should be able to pick those up.

–For local fans who live in AZ, you also have the option of streaming games through Suns Live / Kiswe for $15/month or $110 for the season. *As with OTA TV games, the 12 games that will air exclusively on national networks (TNT, ESPN, ABC) are excluded from this package*

–Why pay for the streaming service if you can get the games OTA for free with an antenna? Benefits include the ability to stream to a mobile device on the go, exclusive content, pause/rewind (I think?), and a free t-shirt with an annual streaming subscription.

–If you have a YouTube TV (YTTV) subscription, you should be able to watch any games that are broadcast on 3TV, ESPN, TNT, or ABC. You will not be able to watch the roughly 15 games that will be broadcast exclusively on AZFS, however (unless/until YTTV adds AZFS to its package). You’ll need to supplement the YTTV subscription somehow (antenna to watch games OTA, or subscription to Kiswe).

–If you live outside of AZ and want to catch Suns games (with the exception of nearby non-AZ locales that are included in the Suns’ market, e.g., Blythe, parts of New Mexico, etc.), you are much more constrained. You’ll need a combination of League Pass and some other medium (YTTV, cable, etc.) for catching the TNT/ESPN/ABC games that are blacked out on League Pass. The antenna and Kiswe are not viable options for you.

Also if you don’t get channel 44.1 like me. They said the weather channel 3.5 will also air the same game at the same time with pre and post game show.
