Jrue Holiday’s wife calls sudden trade to Boston ‘personal’ | What’s Wright?

Many NBA fans were shocked to learn of the 3-team trade that would send Damian Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks, and send Jrue Holiday to the Boston Celtics by way of the Portland Trail Blazers… and it seems Holiday himself was just as shocked as the rest of us. Holiday’s wife took to social media to pen a heartfelt message about the toll this trade has had on her husband and his family, and Nick Wright takes a moment to talk about the reality of the trade business in the NBA.

  1. It is what it is you’re making millions. There is always a sacrifice no matter what

  2. It’s the nature of the business. I get it. I have empathy for it… but oh well I mean you have to just understand. And it’s not worth being vocal about it or complaining to the NBA

  3. We seen a grown man in Lamar Odom cry because he was traded to Dallas. It's a business Don't ever get comfortable everything's temporary

  4. Jrue's wife has a right to her feelings. Nevertheless, her sentiments are better expressed in a NBA WAGs group chat. The post feels like a millionaire trying to illicit sympathy from the public. She may have legitimate concerns but I don't want to hear it. The pay is too high to be openly complaining.

  5. The problem is she's complaining to the wrong audience about the inconvenience of being a millionaire. Every regular person is dealing with issues she probably can't relate to anymore. I live next to the largest military base in the world. A lot of my neighbors go through this without over 70 million dollars of guaranteed money on the table. She talking to people who are concerned with grocery prices, layoffs, child care, etc. We're not denying Cheney and Jrue their humanity, we just don't have time for their 1 percenter problems at the moment.

  6. Its part of the deal for the athlete, but those children who have to change schools didn't choose that. I would chain myself to a tree in protest to stay with my friends

  7. There’s an is-ought fallacy going on here. Just because this is currently the way the NBA is that doesn’t mean that’s how it ought to be.

  8. They have private movers, private chefs, everything luxury..oh and millions in the bank..

Foh with all that crying. She lives life on easy mode, upset its not lowered to story mode.

  9. The weirdest thing is Lauren Holiday was a professional athlete who changed teams multiple times, I know it’s rough but that’s the business and she knows it

  10. There used to be a time when people would be upset their franchise players or even regular starters would get traded without them knowing. They also used to be understanding when they would get hurt or miss games, now most of the internet fans just laugh. Sports wolrds changed a lot since Lauren Holiday got her tumor removed.

  11. Seeing Damonza’s growth from when he started to now is awesome. Look forward to every episode of this podcast!

  12. Player under contract ask for a trade public gets upset at the player amd call them every name except a child of a god. A team trade a player under contract without notice and the public don't mind that though. This is why I will always side with the players when they ask for a trade because a team will trade them without thought in the middle of the night
