MLSE is only interested in sports properties requiring no marketing effort to render profitable

NBA was founded in 1946 and was profitable by 1949.

WNBA was founded in 1996 and is nowhere close to profitability.

(This is a response to a deleted comment by OP that NBA wasn’t profitable at first until they invested and expanded)

They could play in the dome like the original expansion days lol.

Yeah lets get our NBA team right again, first.

  5. NAV should go without MLSE at Mattamy or CocaCola

It’s gonna be Portland it seems which is cool. The city is lacking in teams outside the Blazers and Timbers and in general has the crowd that IMO would be into supporting a women’s team. Wonder if they hope to ever attract Ionescu lol.

The whole thing was a brand exercise.

Lots of great press from the promo game. The company cares! Look they even tried to get a franchise, until the league made unreasonable demands!

The economics don’t work for a wnba team to play at the acc, if they can’t handle playing in a nice modern arena like the Coca Cola then there is no way to accommodate them. It’s a shame the wnba cannot understand they have no leverage.
