Cam Johnson On Learning From Phoenix and Book, Team USA and The FIBA World Cup, The Nets and More

Our guest this week is our neighbor on The Brooklyn Nets, Cam Johnson. It’s not typical that such a young player has so much insight into the NBA. We’re pumped for this episode so let’s get into it. Topics include: The UNC North Carolina vs. Duke rivalry, Team USA’s loss in the FIBA World Cup, what he learned from Monty WIlliams and why he thinks The Detroit Pistons will shine under him, an in depth conversation about intricacies of shooting a basketball, when he realized Devin Booker is the real deal, what he expects from Mikal Bridges, Ben Simmons and The Brooklyn Nets this season and so much more.

  1. I hope NBA incorporates more FIBA rules, the stop and start during an NBA game is so annoying. Gonna be following Cam and Mikal next season, routing for them!

  2. as a long time suns fan, i actually became a cam stan simply for his personality and 3s lol but he’s so smart, such a nice human, and a crazy talented nba player who i think is still extremely underrated. the only trade i actually cried about was the twins but i cried specifically about losing cam, once my favorite sun. love love love this episode, thank you

  3. FIBA is a team game for sure. But winning NBA basketball is also a team game. Where are the winners on that USA team? None of those guys have won at that top level.

  4. Cam is such an honest analyst of the game, he makes it academic. If booker ever leaves I’ll definitely become a suns fan

  5. The breakdown of the valley oop was great to hear. Definitely one of the best plays as a Suns fan. Book sacrificed his body to make it happen.

  6. Seems like the common denominator in producing a great player and/or team is the ability to keep learning, disciplined practice and knowledgeable coaching. Listening to Cam, JJ, Iman Shumbert, Rashon Rondo, Dion Sanders and others is such a pleasure when they talk about a kind of personal code of conduct that allows them to master their craft on the road to being winners.

  7. “They play a different style of basketball… that’s why we lost”…. That right there will tell u that the nba is fake, it ain’t real basketball if people from other places can play a “different style” and beat them 🤷🏽‍♂️

  8. Pitt fan here that loves Cam Johnson and I still claim him as a pitt guy whenever I can. Such an impressive and likeable guy.

  9. I remember when twitter was calling the Suns toxic, but in reality we had the most wholesome team in the league. Ok I'll give you Chris Paul and Jae Crowder, but Mikal, DA, both Cams, Jock, Baynes, Jevon, Saric, Frank, Monty, Ish, Book, Torrey, etc… all extremely wholesome dudes. Loved those teams.
