Malcolm Brogdon on if he’s hoping to eventually land in a contender: “I want to be here. There’s a lot of misleading information out there about they need to trade me or I want to go to a [contender]. I’m trying to make the most of my opportunity and assume leadership role with these young guys.”

In his first interview as a member of the Blazers, Malcolm Brogdon was asked if he’s eventually hoping to end up in a more “adult” situation and be a member of a contending team. Here is his response (2:39):

“I’ve had conversations with the Blazers front office and with Chauncey. They want me here, and I want to be here. This is something a lot of people [wherein] there’s a lot of misleading information out there about they need to trade me or I want to go to a [contender]. I’m trying to make the most of my opportunity and assume leadership role with these young guys. I’m embracing that.”

Honestly, not only would Brogdon be a fantastic mentor but taking an “easier” year would be good for him to get 100% healthy and then reassess where he’s at in terms of where he wants to play next season.

    Ehhh I don’t know.

We have 3 guards to develop, I don’t think he will be fine with lack of minutes for long.

  3. He’s a clipper for 2 second round picks at the deadline

Brogdon seems like a good dude. He wants to stay with the Blazers and be a leader for the young guys. People need to stop spreading fake news about him wanting to go to a contender. Just let the man do his thing, sheesh.

  5. Portland’s in no rush. They can wait and see if the demand picks up. If he can prove that his elbow is fine, more teams should become interested.

To be honest, he’s a perfect professional for guys like Scoot and Shaedon to learn from

yeah sure man, you’re getting shipped off by the NBA trade deadline

My suspicion is that he has a fair bit of rehab to do. I think the Blazers know that and are hoping he can build his value back.

Not that it would happen but can someone tell me how it would work if Suns used Cam Payne and Dario Saric’s combined 11.5M trade exception coupled with Grayson Allen and Nassir Little to trade for someone making 22.5M like Brogdon?

Portlands a good place to be. Not freezing, cascade mountains, beautiful coast, great food. I am happy for him!

  11. Inb4 he’s pouting about not being a starter or he’s injured or shit talking the city. Trade him now Portland.

    Tobias / Oubre Jr.

    Tucker / Reed

    Embiid / Bamba

Team can compete with anyone.. no other team gives Harden a better chance to win a chip.
Play this year, bet on yourself and get paid in offseason.
