A longer regular season leash for younger players. Development only goes so far if they don’t see the floor

A larger rotation of players to make sure the young guys have seen the floor enough to be playoff ready should they need to be.

Expectations are high but I’m always a bit cautious with a new coach.

I always wondered if bud overemphasized rest to the point that the team’s fitness lagged. They know better than I do, just wondering if griffin takes a different approach and we’re in better shape in the playoffs.

    1) no more Thunder-style ISO ball. We have way too many weapons that fit together way too well. Budenholzer started off strong but slowly got more and more complacent with the offense until it devolved into Jrue, Khris, and Giannis just taking turns at the top of the arc. Griffin’s new motto is apparently “no turns” so I think he gets this. I want to see 4-5 guys touching the basketball regularly and some easy looks for the “others”

    2) let the young guys play! Others have already pointed this out so I’ll leave it there

    3) get Jae Crowder to buy in. If Griff can convince this guy that his main role is to QB the defensive coverage like Tucker did, it’s going to make a **huge**difference. Crowder’s not as talented as PJ but I see him as maybe the biggest X Factor for how this season goes.

The rest is kinda up in the air, I just want to see him involved and present and at least trying to get creative. I don’t know whether it was pride or apathy that led to Bud’s downfall but he was clearly going through the motions last year.

A different defense and movement on offense. Also, the ability to adjust to the team they’re playing

I just don’t want to see much Giannis attacking the rim and 4 other players waiting in the corners.

  8. Gameplanning based off of teams weakness. Exploiting mismatches

More off ball movement, more developmental time for young players and having the ball in Dame’s hands and let Giannis and Brook be the best pick n roll duo in the league.

Let’s actually run plays. Set screens and have off ball action. Now that they have a real pg giannis do not bring ball up. This is a recipe for 4 guys standing at the perimeter while giannis tries to pound into the rim. That style offense may work on regular season but it’s proven much tougher in playoffs when teams have better defensive players. Let it fly needs to change. When they are constantly jacking 3s and going 30% it’s going to lead to many wasted possessions.

Not just letting teams kill us with the 3 ball

Need Giannis playing all 48 & averaging 45 pts 💯💯

More Marjon playing time and other younger players as well

I would like to see us work on offensive sets more. Especially when we have a lead by 10 plus points. Instead of just running down the court and jacking first open shot, I would love to see them slow it down and put Giannis down in the low post and just let him work on his post up game. Can you imagine if our guys actually started taking advantage of leads by using the shot clock, making the other team exhaust themselves by playing defense, and also possibly putting the other teams players in foul trouble. Too many times over the last couple of years I’ve seen them blow big leads because they just keep pushing the pace and jacking bad shots, ultimately letting the other team back in the game. We need to get that close out mentality instilled into our guys. Where instead of letting them back in, we put our foot on their throat and make sure they don’t get any momentum for a come back!

I would just like to see rotational play that makes sense and isn’t some secret coach’s hidden formula shit where you’re adhering more to the ‘system’ than you are adjusting to a game like it was with Bud.

And don’t forget you have a whole regular season to try new things and test young players.
