Omax might be getting O mins Max if he keeps this up

  2. D live is that dude – stud a of a draft pick. Omax is raw as a blue rare steak.

  3. TheDeadman95

After these two games, Lively and Exum are small rays of hope. As for everything else, I prefer not to speak…

  4. XerxesCrofter

Fall behind, fight back, pull close, collapse at the very end–even the 2-ways and camp invites are true Mavs!

  5. XerxesCrofter

Hardy with 8 boards! Alas, he also had 80 turnovers. Love his aggression, though. The Mavs need that.

Lively is going to be good. Might take a while, but he has it . . .

  6. The team is far from ready , but there are some positives :

    > Dereck Lively is huge defending the rim . We finally got an elite rim protector for the future.

    > Luka played some off-ball in this game. Not the greatest outcome but it’s encouraging.

    > Green should start without any doubt.

    > Tim , if he embraces his role as a bench scorer can really help us (Sorry Hardy ).

    > Grant was really good defensively.

    > Dexter Dennis has been really good and looks like he secured his two-contract. I won’t be shocked if he even gets in the rotation at some point.

    >I like how Dante Exum is pushing the pace in the second-unit

  7. People need to realize that this is preseason vs an already established team that made very few changes in the offseason. Also the rookies played more minutes than Luka, so don’t just take this result at face value lol

  8. Iā€™m not gonna panic yet but we canā€™t afford to have a bad start to the season, and it looks like weā€™re gonna have a *bad* start to the season if we are getting waxed by Minnesota like this

  9. ipawnn00bz

    Starting roster should be:

    PG – Luka/Kyrie

    SG – Kyrie/Luka

    SF – Green

    PF – Williams

    C – Lively

We really need to trade Hardaway. Too many scorers and not enough two-way players.

Lively is a ray of hope. His presence alone alters shots. He has good instincts. Happy to see him get better from game 1.

Omax definitely didn’t play well. Hoping he finds his rhythm soon. A stint in the G League will definitely help. His pace is erratic and he definitely needs to slow down. Shooting needs massive improvement.

Green should definitely start. He has shown noticeable improvement. Hope he is more aggressive offensively though. Take more shots from Hardy.

Hardy is good when he’s on. But he really had a bad game overall. Very streaky like Tim. Hope he learns when to shoot and when not to. Playmaking needs a lot of work.

Lively will be great once he adds muscle and learns the tricks of being an NBA big man. Luka/Kyrie/Green/Williams should be the guaranteed starters, and as long as Lively keeps it up, he should start too. Omax probably spends most of the year in the g league, which is fine because we have a ton of depth everywhere except at the big man spot. I still wish we could get Capela without having to give up Green or Hardy. Dexter Dennis can get the last two way spot as far as I’m concerned.

This sub is elite when it comes to overreacting after preseason games.

  13. NoWayNotThisAgain

    Dwight Powell with a +11.

You guys see whatā€™s coming right?

  14. Calliesdad20

Lively is such a great pick , make him the starter since day 1.
    And heā€™s only 19

  15. YoStepWithLuka77

Guys the beautiful thing isā€¦we really didnā€™t see Dwight Powell play today šŸ„¹

  16. NoWayNotThisAgain

    Relax. Itā€™s pre season.

We didnā€™t have our second best player, and Hardy is going to a 6MOTY candidate. Weā€™re going to have the best backcourt in the league. Or at least top 3.

Lively looks fantastic for a Rookie. He should be starting by Christmas, if not Thanksgiving. Heā€™s only going to get better all season long. Only 3 fouls in 22 minutes in his second NBA game. Thatā€™s a REALLY good sign.

Josh is still a great utility player who seems to have his confidence disappear at times. Thatā€™s workable. When heā€™s confident he can be a game changer.

Williams is a smart player and good defender. When his 3 starts dropping heā€™ll be a great role playing starter. Heā€™s going to be a fan favorite.

Maxi will still be the versatile role player off the bench heā€™s always been, Timmy will drive us crazy with inconsistency, and weā€™ll all love the Charlie hustle of basketball Dwight Powell when heā€™s coming off the bench instead of starting.

Omax is going to be on a two way contract and be back and forth to the G-league. I hope Holmes gets the reputation rehab heā€™s looking for, bet heā€™s def not there yet. Our deep bench looks ok. Hopefully we donā€™t see much of them.

Things are going to be ok.

  17. ComicBoomin

This was really promising. If we just shoot better we win this game easy. Defense was great!

  18. I remember arguing with a dude claiming omax is gonna be better than Josh Green from thr get go. Lol.
