[Winderman] Tyler Herro: “I’m glad Portland didn’t want me. I just don’t want to be in Portland. So it’s not personal with Portland, at all—My value maybe has decreased in people’s eyes,” he said, “but I’m a better player than I was last year, so there’s no way my value has decreased.”

“Young rich guy would rather be in Miami than Portland. More at 11”

Maybe it was just never that high to begin with.

  3. Snoo-1474

He is taking it personally. I’d love him in Brooklyn

Bro we get it lol. It’s dame. When a better player is available then your name will normally get thrown in any potential deal. If they were trading for cam reddish then I would feel disrespected.

Not only does Portland not want you, literally every team in the league didn’t want you, including Miami.

  6. TheLetterOh

It wasn’t even that he’s not a good player. I really like Tyler Herro. We just already have Anfernee, Scoot, and Shaedon.

I hope he drops 50 on us this year.

    > “And our team didn’t get better without me, we just started shooting better and making shots. We didn’t make shots all year. And I’m the best shooter on the team. So I don’t think with me sitting out affected our shooting percentage. I just think we started making shots.”

I know most won’t take the time to read the article, but that paragraph hit me like a brick.

I see what he’s saying…but if him not being in the lineup resulted in his teammates taking on greater responsibilities and making the shots they were missing…then they clearly got better without him. I think it’s also though fair to type that a healthy Tyler Herro would have made that team better, BUT, the counterpoint again is that they used his injury as a rally to build up other players in his place…

So yes, they got better without you.

Yeah I didn’t want her anyway, she doesn’t even Look that hot 🥲

They’ve gotta stop asking this man questions about this.

Here is your apparently-needed daily reminder that when you see these quotes they are in response to a direct question about the exact thing mentioned, and the player casually and openly answered the specific question accordingly as their media obligations generally expect.

Just so we don’t have to do the “why would he say this?” and “bro just stay quiet” every single time as if the player took out an op-ed to make an unsolicited announcement about a random opinion of theirs intended to offend some comment section goblins on Instagram, Twitter, or Reddit.

Maybe he doesn’t understand that he can get better as a player but his value can still decrease due to his contract. Jaylen Brown is a great player but his value drastically decreased this offseason.

  12. plantsarepowerful

Sounds like it is personal then

  13. tigerliftsthemtn

Bruh, your own team didn’t want you

  14. wallybuddabingbang

His value has only gone down in the sense that his perceived ceiling is lower than originally hoped for and hyped by the media and fans.

That said, he’s right. He’s still a good player and recency bias is not working in his favor.

Love to see a guy like this use this as motivation to make his critics pay.

  15. AmitN_Music

Why is this dude acting like this? It’s not that Portland didn’t “want” you. They didn’t want the package Miami had. It included you. You were not the focal point nor the sticking point of any deal getting done with Portland. You were a small piece of the puzzle. I feel like he thinks he was a much bigger part of the potential deal, which good oh him, but back here on earth he wasn’t.

  16. Inevitable-Tourist18

He’s wrong. The team was better without him.

  17. shahsnow

Bro really wanted to visit 1000 Breweries and have fresh Kombucha daily.

  18. BramptonBatallion

These responses are stupid cuz you never know where you may need to end up down the line

  19. Ashewhite

Says it’s not personal but it sounds personal

  20. phil3199

Miami doesn’t even want him. They’ve been trying to trade him every single chance they get but no one wants him.

  21. reaper550

“Who wants to date me, be honest” poll type of vibe where everyone says no

  22. datatadata

The package that Portland ended up getting from the Bucks is so much better than what they would’ve received from the Heat. Herro needs to objectively understand that he doesn’t carry that much value (he is still young and developing) and the package where he is the center piece made no sense.

  23. solo118

Bro I am telling you I am 10x better than I was last year, trust me, I am a pro

  24. GreatWhiteNurse

Your glad Portland didn’t want you? It’s your own team that doesn’t want you, Tyler.

  25. aamartt

Bro, it was Pat Riley and Miami that wanted to let you go
