Damian Lillard will forever be a franchise legend in Portland. After a decade in the city, Lillard has now been traded to Milwaukee. How has the move been received in Portland? Did the franchise handle the trade request in the right way? Do Miami Heat fans have reasons to be upset? Was the trade package adequate for a player of Lillard’s status? What is next for Jrue Holiday and what should the Blazers expect from a trade. Kane is joined by Mike Richman of Locked on Blazers to get the perspective from Portland.

  1. 7:36 Ayton is a lot more valuable than people give him credit for. His situation is a lot similar to Sabonis' last year when everyone thought the team getting the big man got fleeced. He averaged more points as a roll man than AD last season, he also shot better in the paint and from mid range than AD. Sure, CP3 helped a lot, but there's no denying he's a great finisher. I really think he can be Sabonis 2.0 and have a career revival in 2024.

  2. Great crossover!!! Bucks and Blazers fanbase were already close before but holly s…. now it reached another level haha

  3. Crazy thing when I think about that 2029 pick is it’ll be Scoots 4th or 5th year? So that core group will be at the point you’d think they start making playoffs and might end up with a potential lottery pick to add to it or to use in a big trade to add to a 5 year in Scoot and co.

  4. I know what WOJ is reporting but I don't believe for a second that Horst pulled this off without Giannis's knowledge. No way in hell this happens without his blessing. I think if anything Horst is trying to protect Giannis from the perception that he felt Jrue wasn't good enough offensively to win another title. I love Jrue as a player and a person but honestly he doesn't have the fire power to create the spacing that Dam can.

  5. Glad Dame is getting to play with Giannis while we rebuild! Looking forward to watching both teams this year. 🤘🏼

  6. Ayton is a top 5 center if he is used right. Suns wanted a center content with being completely out of the offense. Ayton wants a bigger role on his team and he will deliver. This was a no-brainer trade for Blazers once they got out of Lillard's massive contract.

  7. What both podcasters forgot is that, yes, we would like to see Giannis happy if he wanted to go. We are Wisconsin Nice. We literally just had the football version of Damian Lillard, except one who won us a championship, say he wanted to play for the New York Jets. And no one despises him for it. We all saw the team was going in another direction just like the Blazers were.

I didn’t even want Dame. He’s gonna be targeted in the playoffs for his defense. I will miss the Jrue Holiday Experience. He has the most beautiful defense I have ever seen. It wasn’t his fault that Budenholzer didn’t understand the word “adjustment” or that we had horrific SGs and 3pt shooting.

    I hope I’m wrong.

  8. I like Jrue, but I LOVE this trade. His D was not good against elite players last year and I am fed-up of his 3 for 17 shooting lines. In the POs everyone steps up their D. The last 2 times we lost, our offense was bad, but our dense was worse.

  9. Mike Richman, bro, you massively under emphasized the enthusiasm the vast majority of blazer fans have for this trade. Of course we’ll miss Dame. But we all knew he was leaving, and I legitimately can’t think of a better landing spot for him.

We get to watch him go to a true contender who is not a rival west team, or a sold out big market team, AND it’s to pair up with another straight up DUDE in giannis, who happens to be the literal dream teammate for dame.

Obviously this was before the jrue trade to Boston. But with the Dame haul now pretty much wrapped up, I’d say we got a pretty good and exciting return app in all.

Wishing Dame and the bucks nothing but the best of luck and good health. Dame has always been healthy and most of his “injuries” lately are just code word for tank mode. And the abdominal thing seems to be behind him. I just hope he doesn’t get too passive. He’s at his best (or at least most exciting) when his light is neon green.

I've been a Buck's fan since Kareem was a rookie and to be honest, I skipped the first round of the playoffs, I would have likely skipped the 2nd round. This team belongs in the finals and they are JUST A DAMIAN AWAY ,So While I think the coaching change will energize the team, its going to be sometime in May before it really matters. I think the NBA is onto something if they shorten the season.
