Jaden Ivey came off the bench in the first preseason game for the Detroit Pistons and there seems to be some signs that this could be the new future for the Pistons. Should Monty Williams bring Ivey off the bench or is there another player that should be benched instead?

I don’t want him coming off the bench
short answer is no
If they are trying to make him earn his way back to being a starter, I'm cool with that.
If they are doing it cause they think we will win a couple extra games this year, that's idiotic. We want to win games, but the main goal is to develop Cade and the rest of our young core – not win 32 games instead of 29 games.
I'm not worried yet, even if he starts the season coming off the bench. But if it's January and Ivey is our 6th man, we might as well trade him before we tank his value.
If that happens that will be the beginning of term oil within that locker room
Last year you complained about how you wanted more defense and how going the offensive route was a horrible idea. After 17 wins Idc if it's Monty that suits up in the starting line up if it helps. They just went up against the team who will probably be the #1 offense in the league this year. Starting doesn't even matter Ivey can still finish the game .
Get stew out that starting lineup! Hes not a great defender and at least if we start Bojan or bagley we'll be able to keep the scores close. Play Ausar at the 3 and duren at the 5, cade and ivy in the backcourt. They also need to stop bsing and send Wiseman to the g-league and sign biyombo.
I say let the coach work his scheme and see how it plays out
u get what u want out of the 2 with asaur starting and ivey gets to just worry about getting buckets coming of the bench… monty knows what he’s doing.. maybe he’s just trying to light a fire under ivey
I'm sorry but some of your takes be way too emotional and numbers driven! Give Monty and this team a chance to work out the kinks!!! Cade didn't even look that great this first game from bad shot selection and overall missing shots! The cade 🍆 riding has to stop!!!
They really shouldn't do that he had a good rookie year and to do something such as bringing him of the bench could kill his confidence. Horrible idea
There was a degree of fanboying in this segment. You literally said last year going offensive was a bad idea and now it's a problem? I like Ivey as a player but let's look at some other facts and or possibilities. First off how do we know Monty saw something out of Ivey he didn't like in camp and is not sending him a message? These players have to earn minutes not be given them. Also I've said for a while I can see Ivey being more than a weapon off the bench than a starter in the NBA due to his play style. He's often out of control, a terrible not just bad defender, a streaky shooter, and a poor finisher at the rim. However coming off the bench the other night with a simplified role he looked the most polished and u lnder control I've seen him in the league. The young man is not Wade, Ja, or Rose. He's more of a more athletic Leandro Barbosa. He's also not a shooter, is he an offensive threat yes. However, is he the type of offensive threat Cade needs next to him? I really don't think he is. I truly believe Ausar is and will further develop Into the type of perimeter partner Cade needs in the starting lineup with Duren Anchoring. Then fill the gaps with shooters.
Ausar has the same effect on how the opponents help as Stew in the starting lineup. Which is why I don’t think they can both be in the starting lineup right now. One has to go, until they can prove they will be defended on the perimeter.
I would be stunned if Stewart starts. Can’t afford his low offensive production in starting lineup. If he does, it won’t be long before Ivey is back in starting.
Im just lost for words that we talkin bout sittin ivey but we startin stewart doe😭
