  1. I can already predict that this episode will fill me with sadness. The Blazers might be one of the worst NBA teams in regards to accessibility. It seems like it would be a priority for a small market team, but here we are. Groot Sports.

  2. Even with college football, trying to find the ducks on fubo, but not all of oregon st games are there… it'd be nice if there was just an oregon sports package that had everything for $100 / year… iin the 80s It'd just be on free bunny ears

  3. I follow a soccer team that has their own broadcast streaming channel that concentrates on their fans and it works and you pay 10 bucks a month and have access to all there home and away games and all team access with interviews.

  4. I am already hating Comcast and making me pay highest package price makes watching Blazers not an option. I will ask my 18 year old son for hacking advice.

  5. If they loose alot of games this year 37 bucks a month could get you tickets to almost every home game

  6. If u dont pay for games, then ur not a consumer. Advertising no longer covers the cost to broadcast, for free. Buy season tickets, and they include Leaguepass, to watch every game.

  7. I am looking forward to Blazers vs Suns game tonight. Seeing the Hammer Dunks of Ayton vs the flip shots of Nurk will be an interesting comparison.

  8. Jody/Vulcan ownership is the absolutely worst mistake of Paul’s time as owner, she is a DNA lottery winner that would be a nobody had her brother not been who he is and now just wants her 5min of fame while not spending a cent more than she has to. Blazers will only go downhill like they have been every second since she took control. And unfortunately she collects checks every season that’s she’s “managing” things for Paul’s trust so there’s zero reason she’ll sell anytime soon since none of that money goes to her and the teet she’s suckling will dry up. 🤦🏻‍♂️

  9. Fubo is the way to go. DirectTV also just raised their prices. Fubo also has the Pac12 network.

  10. Thankfully, I most of the way across the country over the summer so I can finally watch all the Blazer games 🙄 Which, BTW – is stupid.

  11. This has been going on since the “Comcast Agreement.” All about money. Most Blazers games in the past were on terrestrial television. Then, they went for the long term deal that makes it nearly impossible to watch the Blazers for most fans. It’s awful marketing. And it’s become really OLD

  12. I called xfinity and got them to give me roots, with nba league pass, mlb and hockey for $4 more a month.

  13. I’m lucky. I moved to Idaho years ago and got league pass. I don’t miss dealing with Comcast and xfinity.

  14. Plus with Comcast you can't even watch your Root with your OWN package on streaming unless you are in your own home. I want to watch the games at work, but you can't watch them live.

  15. I hate to break it to you Mike but most sports broadcasts in 2023 are in 720p. The issue is that roots stream is so low quality that sometimes the games look like 480i

  16. You can get 720p pretty consistently which is what root was doing anyway, with adblocker keeping you safe. No shot I'm paying for sports ever again

  17. You can get 720p pretty consistently which is what root was doing anyway, with adblocker keeping you safe. No shot I'm paying for sports ever again

  18. Thank you so much for talking about this a being with us. Its cool the customers can save money and opt out of the one channel they don't want, but sports fans have been trying to opt out of the 999 channels we don't want, but are stuck paying for. For a brief few seasons we were able to stream games fairly cheaply on PSVue and YoutubeTV. Then the RSN continued to jack up their rates. Heck I even got Mariners games on Dish for awhile until Root jacked up the price with the Blazers and Dish of course dropped Root. The last few years I have gone back to listening to the radio like I did as a kid.

Also didn't increasing access to other northwest regions just increase the League Pass blackout region? Areas that could get Blazers on League Pass probably can't anymore.

  19. I miss kgw games and games being on a radio station that I can actually tune in. Plus I live in the country and we don't have cable 😢

  20. This is a problem created by the Blazers when they chose to contract with a regional cable provider and not an over-the-air (OAT)provider. Bring back the OAT or make a deal with Freevee (or other free streaming service). Some markets (believe Phoenix and Salt Lake) have accepted smaller revenue packages by making deals with OAT providers to make sure to expand their base.

By allowing locals to watch the games over streaming/antenna TV, new passionate fans are created increasing interest in tickets causing an increase in demand and corresponding increase in price/sales.

Currently, it feels like the fan base in Portland is shrinking which is never good for the long term viability of the local market.

  21. Idk if this works because I’m out of region, but a monthly subscription to a vpn service is much cheaper. You could do that IP area change that everyone preaches about with watching different Netflix shows, and then watch on league pass.
