[Horton] Workmanlike. That’s the word I would use to describe the first two weeks of training camp. It’s an experienced group — among rotation players Ant & Jaden are youngest but they’re both starters & in their 4th seasons. This group knows how to prepare & put in the work. 1/4

Horton continues “And they know what to expect. The rotation is pretty much set, roles are pretty well defined. 9 of top-10 players at end of last season are back & Shake & Troy are 6y vets that have fit in seamlessly. And they know Finch’s system — spacing & timing on offense is better … and the defense is more connected.

And I think that continuity has been on display in 1st 2 preseason games. And there doesn’t seem to be any drama or major issues the team has to work through or overcome. Everyone is pulling in the same direction.

Now, the team is by no means a finished product & there will likely be bumps in the road along the way, but I’ve been watching Wolves training camps for 17 years & can’t recall one off to a more encouraging start.”

Admittedly, this gets me pretty excited. NBA teams where everybody knows their roles and is entirely bought into the coaching staff and how they want to play are the most fun teams to watch IMO. You absolutely need that connective tissue and chemistry to ever have hopes of success. I think we’ve already seen some of this in the first few preseason games, the way nearly everybody is trying to create for each other on offense and how rotations on defense have looked much smoother.

Im very hopeful that because of the continuity we have for the first time in forever that we should come out and jump on teams right out of the gate

I’m ready for them to be GOOD this year. This team has all the pieces, it’s just a matter of time together to learn how to play the right way to maximize everyone. In their media interviews so far, everyone seems bought in and everyone is noticing how things seem different with the team this year. It’s exciting

Absolutely love how “quiet” this camp has been. We’ll make our noise once the season starts.

I’ve already been pretty bullish on the team since the end of the Nuggets series (and once they retained Naz and NAW), but this is pretty damn encouraging to read.

I was also pretty encouraged by the way SloMo talked about the team in his media availability this week (first 20 seconds): https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=e_9zUe38-lo

This has honestly been a dream off-season. Very little turnover but all turnover appears to have been upgrades. Naz re-signing instantly jolted this fan base into excitement and I honestly believe that set everything up for this team.

FIBA obviously gave us a huge advantage, everyone looked a lot sharper than Dallas in Abu Dhabi. NAW getting tons of run for Canada looks like it made a world of difference.

    All in all: AaaaaamotherfuckingWooooooo
