This may be my favorite D’Angelo Russell sequence of the preseason. He first picks up Paul full court, switches onto Wiggins off the DHO, shades his hip to spin him into the help, sees Prince go over on the screen and steps up/switches again to prevent the drop look for Thompson.

To all of you who are still in denial.. cause Ive seen a similar comment on post about Brown after the series. Most of them said Bruce Brown didnt mock lakers at all, he didnt do anything. He just played good. Nah. He was poking the bear all series. Seen him hit the freeze in front of the lakers bench like 6-7 times the whole series.

Every tike Dlo has the ball… something good is gonna happen. Same with Austin
A lot of defense is just about effort, DLo’s a smart player and he communicates on defense but it’s nice to see him really take the challenge and improving on that end. Hope this is a constant throughout the season because he’s looking great in the preseason
Personally, I don’t want Dlo picking up full court in a lot of situations. CP3 is slow now so it works. Quicker guards can blow by Dlo and Dlo doesn’t have the foot speed to catch up to them so it’ll be a 4v5 for a while.
Trying to defend from behind is also problematic against PGs that really know how to abuse it like Trae Young.
Against GS, it’s a bit inevitable Dlo has to guard the PG since both Curry and CP3 can function as PGs. They kept Reaves on Curry so Dlo was left to defend CP3. But, I don’t want to see Dlo defend PGs on the regular.
He just needs to show up in the post season. He’s a great talent and I’m glad he’s back with the LakeShow.
My favorite moments were him causing like 3 turnovers. He is playing legit D.
