  1. I love the clip of coach yelling at practice. Some of the players were yelling at each other too. It seemed competitive and fun.

  2. The fact Mike is trying out switching Huerter out of the lineup for Duarte shows that he is very disappointed in what he's seen from the defense so far in training camp and preseason games…

  3. I would say that it does tell Kevin Huerter that he has a leash, and it isn't as long as it was last year.

Because they have Chris Duarte and Malik Monk on the bench who can both step up and play a high level of basketball.

I think it should tell Harrison Barnes the same thing if he slacks on defense. That Duarte could step up if he play bad. That Huerter could step up if Barnes plays bad.

And this goes back to last year and holding players accountable. The same message, but now it is another level he wants from the team.

There does need to be more different looks on offense. A growth on defense. Especially if the Kings want to make a deep run in the playoffs.

The Kings are in a really good place. They have 12 guys who are rotational players. 7 who could start for most teams.

They are still young and entering their prime years.

So if they need to make a trade, they are in a great place. They have weapons all over the floor and should be able to do new things with give and goes, pick and rolls, fast breaks and set offense.

Hopefully improve the areas they struggled with against the Warriors. Like Sabonis and his mid range game. Maybe having a couple of guys practice hook shots so they can't be blocked easily. Especially the big men.

Hopefully they are getting Keegan Murray to increase his rebounding on both ends of the floor.

If they can be top 5 on offense and top 10 on defense, they can have a damn good chance to make it to the Western Conference Finals.

I am not sure if they will do it or not. But, my hope is that they are all up to the challenge. Because this is the most talented and deepest Kings team since the Chis Webber Era.

  4. If he is challenging the team by restrictions on the offense of last year and introducing new elements to mix to add is not a bad thing.

  5. This is the reigning unanimous COTY that's calling the shots. We have to believe he knows what hes doing, and only has the best intentions for the team and all individual players.

  6. Duarte is rusty after being injured last year so look for him to improve during the next few months. Fans got to see glimpses of why Chris was named NBA 1st Team All Rookie the season before, just like Keegan did last season.

  7. I disagree that Huerter is a better basketball player than Duarte. Better shooter sure but Huerter does NOT give full effort on defense and I have been annoyed by it for a while. I am very VERY happy that he is starting a more willing defender. I constantly watch Huerter not make the extra effort. He is not naturally ever going to be an elite defender BUT he also doesn't give the EFFORT to do certain things that are necessary. I am very happy to see Duarte as a starter. I hope Duarte plays great and secures that starting position.

  8. HUGE opportunity for Chris Duarte.

Duarte has all the talent in the World when He's not up inside his own Head too much.

I saw Him drop 30 points off the bench at Brooklyn on Durant, Simmons and Kyrie last year then He got hurt the very next Game and was never the same.

Huerter in my opinion was most definitely the weak link in last seasons playoffs and was A shell of the player that played during the regular season. He DEFINITELY played soft in last years playoffs.

Duarte can most definitely defend and is fearless on that side of the ball.

Golden opportunity for Duarte. I loved the fit after the trade. I'm rooting for Him

  9. He is the weak link. Not sure why it’s so hard to see. I’ve been saying this was gonna happen. I don’t know why a few ppl are so sold on huerter. This should’ve happened a long time ago. If huerter does start on opening night it won’t last long. Guarantee it !

  10. Also I don’t think think many ppl are panicking about it, rather ppl are happy about it. There’s only a small percentage that thinks huerter should be starting.
