As soon as he was drafted, and especially after Damian Lillard was traded to the Bucks, people have been labeling Scoot Henderson as the Dame replacement. He’s expected to be the next face of the franchise, and take the mantle that Lillard held for the last decade. But the true next Damian Lillard was already on the roster, and he’s been criminally underrated. When people talk about Portland’s young guys, they usually mention Scoot and Shaedon Sharpe first. But Anfernee Simons is the best of the three right now, and is the next Damian Lillard. Last season must’ve been the quietest 21 point per game season of all time, because no one really talks about how good he was. He showed that once again in the team’s preseason game Saturday against the Jazz. He finished with 29 points and shot 80% from the field. He looked extremely confident, and just couldn’t miss. He’s already one of the best shooters in the entire league, and at 24 years old he’s just going to get better. He made the 5th most threes per game last season. Despite being the most proven of the three young guards for Portland, and also having all-nba upside, he gets talked about the least. I’d say that Simons is one of the most underrated players in the entire league, and I think he could make the all-star game as soon as this season, he’s that level of talent. The Trail Blazers already have their Damian Lillard replacement. Now let’s take a deeper look into the game of Anfernee Simons.

Crazy thing is he not even near prime got bout 3-4 more years and on great contract
Dame is a average defender at best and is a volume scorer, if Simmons gets the same shot volume he will also score close to 30ppg. Scoring is over rated if it’s not efficient.
