“Acting head coach David Adelman has an idea why Nikola Jokic has been shooting more to start the season.
After taking all of eight shots in three preseason games last year, Jokic attempted 11 shots in Denver’s first preseason game this year and took 10 more in the Nuggets’ second exhibition. He needed just over 30 seconds Sunday to sink his signature Sombor Shuffle shot against the Bulls.
“I think it’s been a reaction to his offseason, trying to find a rhythm,” Adelman said pregame.
“It’s been good for him to get them up and get a feel for it.”
Jokic went on to make his first three shots before missing a 3-pointer. He finished the first half 4 for 7 from the field, including three attempts from 3-point range. He finished with 15 points on nine shot attempts, the fewest he’s taken this preseason but more than he took all of last preseason.”
