If I was Booth I would have said that I meant he was a “mi guy” not “me guy”. “Mi” actually means “cool” in a foreign language so he was trying to say MPJ was a cool guy

My response to Kevin:
>You glibly laughing about how you “should have maybe paraphrased that quote” sure makes the controversy seem intentional.
and his response to me:
>That’s a comment in hindsight considering the response. But as I said to Verno I am shocked it’s being taken as some shot against MPJ and didn’t consider it as such.
Pretty wild to me that nobody thought that quote would cause problems, but at least we have more info. I think the whole hiding behind “context” thing is pretty week because he’s speaking matter-of-factly about both players and it’s probably best to not trash your guys publicly at all. Like, does it make you feel better thay someone said you were trash last year but not so trash now? lol

Don’t let Lakers fans see this, they’re eating up the “controversy.”

I’ll copy and paste what I posted earlier today in the game thread because I think it’s accurate and I was right:
Calvin was talking with GM brain. It’s a warped perspective. Listen to how Deion talks about the types of backgrounds he likes different positions to have come from. I’m not saying Booth thinks like that entirely, but I gaurentee you his GM brain is warped to a similar perspective. People become assets and numbers on a spread sheet with attributes like Pokémon cards. When Booth says “me guy” he probably doesn’t even mean it in a bad way, it’s just another one of those player attributes on the Pokémon card
