The rotation looks good. The depth will be fine. I would go for it though at the mid season trade deadline and trade for a quality expiring contract, preferably a big.

I’m not sure there’s any situation where I want Holiday making 30+ million a year coming off the bench. I feel like Al coming off the bench just makes so much more sense. You get to keep him minutes down and keep him as fresh as possible

having no coach is a big problem- watching Nurse and thibodeaux ganme plan in these exhibition games shows the tremendous disadvantage we have on the bench

Btw JB got elbowed in the chin and that ref missed it and gave him a T? Hope they review that cause that’s messed up. Your right you cannot give up 14 offensive rebounds. I am worried about this stat come playoffs. I know that Tatum really needs to step that part of his game up and I know he can when he wants to. not sure if he understands that he can chill more on the offensive side but cannot chill rebounding.

I know Horford wants to start, but if you look at the contracts, his 10 million makes him the 6th man. It would be hard for him to look at White or Holiday and say "I deserve to start over you." I think it would be good for him too, he would go against more backups and have a great chance at 6th man of the year, whereas as a starter he isn't playing for all star or all NBA anymore. The team also has more guards than centers, so having the 2 playable centers share the court to start outs the team in a minutes hole to begin with. If KP plays 30 minutes and Horford plays 20, that's only 2 minutes that overlap to be able to have at least 1 playable center on the court at all times. Once they traded TimeLord it was a wrap, Horford off the bench.

Derrick White needs to put a headband back on.
If Tatum gets his efficiency up to the same level as Jaylen, like 50% fg and 38% 3pt, and put up 30+ points per game, he'll easily be a top 3 MVP and candidate. It's Tatum, Giannis, and Jokic (after Embiid last season I doubt he'll get another ever) at the top of the league and on teams good enough to validate an MVP candidate. Luka and a couple others won't be on good enough teams. I have a feeling the Celtics are going to win 65+ games and that will all but force the voters to vote for Tatum.
this postgame format works well it flows nice 👍🏻 would’ve like to see queta hes been playing very good, but kornet looked a little better on the boards, even if he didnt get the rebound he was boxing out and clearing space for other Cs to grab it

Concerned about the turnovers. They need to rebound the ball better. I miss Rob Williams at the rim. Hopefully all these areas will improve.
I think Al is perfect for leading the 2nd unit at this point in his career. Being in there with some of the younger guys and keeping his minutes in check are positives.
For a while now you could tell Kornet, Hauser, and PP were made men by how the team spoke of them. Even so, several guys on the deep bench are competent (Svi, Brisset, Queta, Banton). I think they will get regular season garbage time but probably nothing in the playoffs. The others (Walsh, Gabriel, and JD) probably won’t see many minutes even in the regular season.
Boston needs Al fresh for the playoffs against Embiid and Giannis.
I expect the starters to average 100+ pts a game, so this game was almost an example of that with them scoring 84 playing fewer minutes than they will in real games. I fully expect to see more 78 pt halfs.
Please keep the same energy you have for JB TO for the games where JT is dribbling the ball off his foot and wiping pass to nobody. Or even worse the games where he shoots 10 3s and makes one.

Very surprised that neither Queta or Gabriel played. Clarifying the backup big situation is of great importance IMO. I'm not sold on Kornet. maybe with Horford being 38 yrs old and Unicorn being injury prone they should keep all 3, kornet, Queta and Gabriel on the roster??
it doesn't matter who starts the game. it matters who finishes the game. A lot of this will be situational anyway. Matchups, foul trouble, second half of a B2B, etc.
I get that a it's a pre season game but it was like on defence there was no leader. No one letting everyone know what's happening a voice. I was told this would be White yet he remains very non vocal
So all last year you killed Joe for not making adjustments on the fly and trying new rotations. But now it’s a problem 🤦🏽♂️Bostons media will try and create anything negative just to have something to talk about. It’s preseason I guess he should be playing 7 guys

The problem with Jalen is no one seems to be checking him. JT, KP, JH, AH, and the coach etc.. needs to have a talk with him and tell him that he needs to stop trying to dribble through double and triple teams. There's plenty of help out here and we have a floor general. JB just needs to focus on what he's great at and help the team that way. He's very talented but he needs to be checked privately and held accountable.
What a very fun game to watch
What I liked was the glimpses of a PP/Porzingus 2 man game and hopefully some more Jays 2 man game.
I cant watch these podcasts if youre gonna suggest bringing all-star, all-defensive 1st team PG Jrue Holliday off the bench. We need to build chemistry as fast as possible, and we do that by starting our best players. This is crazy. I can't believe what im seeing all over Celtics media. If one of them comes off the bench it should very obviously be Derrick White. He's done it the majority of his time here. Its simple.
