In the upcoming 2023-24 season, there’s a possibility that Jaden Ivey, the Detroit Pistons guard who started in 73 out of 74 games last season, may find himself coming off the bench. Head coach Monty Williams is considering this adjustment because he wants to ensure a balanced mix of experienced and young players on the court. Williams expressed his view, stating.

“I believe that overloading the floor with too many young players could hinder their development. It’s crucial to have seasoned veterans who can provide stability, offer valuable guidance on the court, maintain proper spacing, and execute the right plays.” While Ivey would still play a significant role as a bench player, his fantasy basketball value might see a decline if he is indeed relegated to that role.

  1. A six man in this league can be just important to a teams success as the starter. Who's playing the most minutes and on the court in crunch time is the most important. Ivey is a instant offense type player that would fit both starter or six man💯

  2. Thompson might overtake Cade as far as PG of the future goes, especially if Cade don’t make some sort of leap after barely playing the last two years

  3. I think people are over reacting to this. He’s a 2nd year player, let him come off the bench. DO NOT TRADE FOR LAVINE! Can’t believe that was even said 😂🤦🏽‍♂️ we’re not trying to compete now so why would we just give up now for a player that’s showing signs of regressing???
