I clocked something similar to this in another interview a couple weeks back, I believe.
Granted, his dad is Mychal Thompson, so there’s a Blazers history by default with the guy, but he also seemed to go out of his way in the interview to shout out Blazers-era Sheed as a hero.
I could see him wanting to come up I-5, but I also don’t know where or how he’d fit with what Portland’s obviously trying to do (which is build a solid unit from the ground up, something that hasn’t really happened since the early 80s, where the organization added Drexler, then added Porter and Kersey, etc). He’d cost a lot of money, and he doesn’t really work for what Portland’s trying to do.
Plus, I cannot imagine the absolute fucking whiplash that would put him in a neckbrace going from Steve Kerr and that staff to fuckin CHAUNCEY’s dumb ass.
