Miami Heat Role Players Shine in Preseason Loss to Nets: Haywood Highsmith Makes Case to Start



The Miami Heat lost to the Nets in their second-to-last preseason game, but the story of the game was Haywood Highsmtih. He got the start on a night the Heat were without Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro, Kyle Lowry, Kevin Love and others, and finished with 15 points. Highsmith has forced his way into the regular rotation and might even have an argument to start at power forward ahead of Kevin Love.

    Gotta say, I have yet to be impressed by Jovic. I'm honestly more impressed by JJJ's potential. I really hope I'm wrong, but I don't see the Jovic experiment going the way most envision it.

    I still believe in jovic and i hope rj hampton can get the opportunity to prove himself when health, early in the season I think you can try highsmith starting and kyle can start if healthy, hope jovic and cain get some mins

    I think Jovic looks 20 years old… and gets lost and floats. Everyone else looks more polished, but again Jovic has many more years to reach his potential. I’m not worried. I still like how he bullies his way into the paint and draws fouls. If he can get a healthy stretch of games with the main guys he’ll grow a ton this year
