[Lewenberg] I asked Darko what he’s looking for from Gradey Dick early in the season. His answer (not unlike the rook’s preseason usage) didn’t exactly scream rotation player: “It’s going to be a lot of patience and time… He’s gotta slow down himself before the game slows down for him”

    he not ready for minutes

905 will be where he sits

especially with the bench depth on this roster this year

With GTJ Precious and Boucher being the first 3 off the bench, in addition to McDaniels and Otto who already have a wealth of NBA experience, it makes sense.

13th picks usually don’t get rotation minutes unless they’re like 23 already, hopefully he develops well with the 905

Shout out to the guy who blocked me last week for saying Gradey Dick might not get a lot of playing time as a rookie. Some people really think that you can just roll out rookies and they immediately have a positive impact when really it’s rare for a rookie to have that kind of impact in their rookie season.

“Coach says you gotta have patience. Dick will take time to grow”

I hope he doesn’t get yo-yoed like Banton and others.

There’s nothing wrong with starting him off slow, he’s very young and this team is going to be more competitive than most lottery picking teams.

If he spends some time in the G League getting used to the systems that’s a plus. There will be injuries throughout the year, so there will be times he’s absolutely needed in the rotation.

I don’t think this is an entire season situation either. We’ve got a good development staff so if he works hard and gets ahold of the NBA game then I imagine by the all-star break he’ll be worked into the rotation.

Once Dick grows he’s going to be huge for this city and this franchise. It’ll be really hard but it’ll happen.

Mind and body have to catch up to the rigors of the NBA.

Hopefully he’s a quick learner, and just maybe we got a steal of a shooter that can play solid minutes. Just never know..

    What a great quote

He can goto the 905 to develop a bit, well see if he makes a appearance around the mid season mark or due to injury

I’d rather have Dick taking the long shot than Flynn.
