With roughly a week to go until the NBA’s regular season gets under way, attention nationally once again turned to a player that won’t be on the floor until mid-December. Sounds like a whole lot of nothing about Ja. I just praying and hoping that he is using the time to improve his shooting skills and defensive skills while he's out. You have the back to back DPOY on the team to learn from and Ja shooting 30 plus percent from three would make his offensive game unstoppable.
Joe and Damichael since I'm here in the comments by myself (I work nights) I will concede that Ja has had some behavioral issues that need to be addressed and he needs to a better example.
I've been monitoring the Kevin Porter Jr. situation and have not heard a peep from the NBA, Houston yes but not the commissioner. I ask this question again with all sincerity as n Canadian who doesn't carry a gun. What law did Ja Morant break? Who did he threaten or shoot at with his weapon?
You guys in America have guns like we drink water up here. Porter Jr. is known to have beaten the you know what out of this woman and has had other suspensions in the past. Where is his suspension? Why has he not been tossed from the league?
But thtey're still talking about Ja. Just another reason why I don't listen to or watch ESPN.
Oh Joe, i fear you underestimate you influence on the universe, if Ja becomes the 3rd highest paid player on the grizzlies I'm sure it's going to be 100% because of this episode. And I'll tell his Ma. 😜
I feel sorry for black men whose livelihood depends on them doing/saying stuff to make their white bosses happy otherwise they lose their jobs. Commercial Appeal dude keeps saying that Ja has to pay for his mistake as if he committed a serious felony. He needs to be examining how ridiculous it was for a player to get suspended for 25 games and losing $8 million dollars in salary for simply being photographed holding up a gun although he wasn't on league property in a state where you don't even need a permit to open carry….in a country where there are more guns than people. He can't cover the story like that however because he knows his white bosses would fire his black ass if he did…..and that's a shame.
Joe, I prefer you here on YouTube and over at Bluff City vs X platform. 140 characters is not enough to provide the full context of your nuanced perspectives😂.
Damichael, you are wise beyond your years. I look forward to following your career for a long time, brother. Keep it up y'all. Go Grizz
Team source was probably that assistant coach they fired
The point is, it’s a 6 month late story. The media is continuing to do this because they are pathetic! I wish you guys would let it go. Has Ja done anything in the last 6 months or whenever the gun thing occurred?
They have a story that generates engagement, most like mine at this point. It’s just dumb! You don’t keep slandering a dude like this, especially a dude who just turned 24, especially a dude whose struggling with mental health.
“None of this story would come out if he didn’t do these things”
AT WHAT POINT DO YOU STOP SAYING THAT? AT WHAT POINT DOES IT BECOME STUPID?
Basically what both of you are covering this from a journalist point of view. Nobody cares about your professions ins and outs.
You guys are contributing to the nba turning into a soap opera. It’s pathetic. ESPN is never hiring either of you, stop swinging on their nuts.
The place to be
Yea that statement Joe and Damichael made about music is probably the most idiotic thing to say. To believe that music does not have influence on people when it have shown over the years make no sense. Ja is suspended basically for just that his influence on people. Music has influence the drugs, clothes, jewelry, cars, plus more that people wear, drive, and take. It’s has influenced gun culture and type of guns these kids carry. From wanting to have AK47 in the early 2000s to having automatic switches in the 2020s. Listen to what Miles Bridges was rapping about in he song that he drop. Yea Desmond and Jaren ain’t showing guns but the fashion and jewelry comes directly from the rap world and culture. Stop acting like it’s not a problem in today’s society because it’s the reason why so many these kids are dying because people just sweep it under the rug.
