Jakob is a true old school centre. He is absolutely necessary. With the emerging Scottie shooting 3, this will create spacing and allow Jakob to do his job, being a serviceable big. Not having a Jakob will put the brunt of the physicality on pascal and Scottie again which will lead to injuries. Good video

Klay Thompson used to be an elite 3 and D.. and he got paid big.
OG needs to continue to work on his 3's so that will open up opportunities for drive when defenders try to close out.
Minute management is the key. NN used to run the starters so much in the first 3 quarters that the players looked tired in the 4th–and shots weren't falling. Last season, Raptors were bad in the 4th quarter. This year, I hope Darko can find a way to keep starters' minutes in the 30-35 range at max. There is no reason for Siakam to play 40+ min in most games last season, and Barnes and Fred would play 37-40 min range.
Stop reading so much into preseason.

One main reason Raptors will improve this season: Jakob Poeltl. He's a centre that they've been missing/lacking since the Gasol/Ibaka days. Masai f'ed up by not having a proper centre and by that I mean true, traditional 7 footer and not some 6'8 dudes with long wing spans like Achiuwa.
