How Important Is Taylor Hendricks To The Utah Jazz?

In this video we discuss the seemingly slow start of the number 9 overall pick in this years draft made by the Utah Jazz. Taylor Hendricks is a special player that fits the stretch big mold with defensive versatility that is desired by all teams in the league within today’s game. I discuss the likely slower developmental rate that he will be undergoing this year, by comparison to one of his draft partners that is getting a lot more shine in the eyes of mainstream media, Keyonte George.

  1. Honestly I am at the point with Hendricks that I am not expecting too much from him this season, but I do want to see him getting better. I am expecting on his 2nd year he will show what he can do in NBA.

  2. He won’t be a star but he’ll be a great player in years to come. He just gotta build up some muscles and play with more intensity. He’s doing great so far. It’ll be fun to see him more of this season

  3. Injuries played a role in slow start for Hendricks, I still think there is huge upside, he can legitimately be worked in at 3,4 or 5. Let’s get him some green light from 3 point range. Jazz still need three point shooting. I’m hoping we trade two guards to allow the young guys minutes. Taylor backs up Laurie, Olynyk backs up Collins, Yurtsevin backs up Kessler. Dunn starts at the point with Keyonte quick off the bench, Jordan starts 2 backed up by Agbaji. Trade sexton and THT for three point shooters

  4. I actually think that Taylor’s trajectory will far more resemble Ochai’s of last year (mostly G-League minutes early on, rotational minutes towards the end) than Walker’s. And Keyonte’s trajectory will far more resemble Walker’s of last year (rotational minutes early on, and moving into starting role midway through the season)

  5. i like your take on his role but i think its going to be like ochai role last season! little playing time at first to prove your self and then gets like 18 minutes give or take of the bench

  6. Hendricks will be phenomenal after putting on 20lbs, his style of play is highly coveted by NBA teams, I think once people see what he can do they'll be surprised. He's just getting started

  7. The great thing about Hendrick’s situation is he relatively under little pressure to produce immediately or learn the NBA game a few weeks in. To compare, think of his situation similar to Ochai Agbaji last season, who was allowed to come into his own at his own pace. As for Keyonte, we all hope he improves at the rate Walker Kessler did last year. And off topic, it brings me joy to see Collin and Horton tucker actually look competent together against the Kings.
