I’m not sure there has been a healthier relationship between a megastar athlete, an organization and a city. Open communication and legitimate trust in every direction. It’s crazy to have gotten so lucky on Hammond’s lottery ticket.

I’m starting to like this Giannis guy

Giannis is the perfect superstar. Humble, yet hungry. Loyal, yet demands excellence. Milwaukee, and the Bucks, couldn’t have asked for a better star if they created one in a lab.

The fact that people give him space is what makes me the happiest. The one thing a lot of celebrities always complain about is never getting space to themselves. I’m glad we can give that to him.

Not me crying at my desk at 4:45pm on a Tuesday…

I would take a bullet for this man

  7. I love this man. I love this org. I love this city.
What a time to be alive.

I think Giannis loves this city more than anything.

The amount of money doesn’t matter, it’s a ridiculous amount; he knows that. He’s already set for life. He has legit roots here. Kohl pushed for his family’s green cards and paperwork, Horst has been here the whole time, and for fuck’s sake, FANS drove him to one of his rookie season games!

The city adores him for bringing home a ‘chip. If Bobby’s the mayor, Jennings is the prophet, Giannis is the chosen one. Milwaukee and Giannis are lucky to have each other.

I mean, I get it. National media is there not to offer real news or analysis, but something that has always been super annoying to me is when people outside of Bucks fandom don’t just listen to the goddamn words coming out of his mouth.

He’s documented his loyalty many times, he’s documented that he wants the organization to want to win as badly as he does and he’s never once minced words about loving Milwaukee, WI.

But the national media can’t just take the man at his word. They have to manufacturer him wanting to leave. The vast majority of the time I brush it off but this extension is particularly annoying because even though he signed it, the talking heads are still talking about him wanting to leave and ways he can force himself out.

Despite the fact the man’s actions AND words have never changed.

The last extension bought a few years of relief from this but for some reason this extension isn’t offering the team and city that grace period. It’s just fucking annoying.

(and when I say this I get the “well look at what Dame did, he said he was loyal and still forced a trade!” I get it, but Dame never once had a team that could realistically compete for a title and I bet that gets annoying after 10 years. That isn’t the case with Giannis and the Bucks.)

    Thursday cannot come sooner enough

Usually it’s good advice to not make sports stars your heroes.

Giannis is the exception to the rule. What a good human.

On the field/court stuff aside, having listened to the guy whine for his first few, and then even worse his last few years in the state, it’s interesting how petty a man like Giannis makes a guy like Aaron Rodgers look by comparison

  14. dwhite123

By far my favourite player ever in basketball

  15. r/nba is crying over his extension, saying he’s corny and will ask out anyway

I’m watching the Bucks ring ceremony and snagged [this screenshot](https://imgur.com/a/cB57B4d) of Giannis watching Thanasis accept his ring.

The Bucks and Milwaukee are his family just as the rest of the Antetokounmpos.

GODAMMIT WHO GOT THESE ONIONS IN HERE. THIS IS A BASKETBALL SUB.

Can we get a Giannis statue?

I feel like if we have a statue for a side character for a TV show that wasn’t even shot here, we can have a statue for an actual Milwaukee legend.

  19. We don’t deserve Giannis. Love this guy.

That last sentence is very big. It seems like he’s aware just how literally divided this city is and he knows that basketball helped bridge a divide better than the 27th street bridge ever has. Nothing about this statement leads me to believe he is doing anything except winning it all this year.
