I posted this in another thread but Westbrook has been so underrated in his career as a passer. As a Thunder fan who watched him for years he really is an elite level passer. People don’t view him that way because his bball IQ had been questioned and he’s prone to forcing things and turnovers. And think his assists are just a product of stat padding and holding the ball. IMO he is actually a really smart player, just has a bit of irrational confidence and can let his emotions get the best of him at times.
He has great vision and and basically makes every type of pass at a high level. Drive and kick game, drive and drop off pass, PnR pocket passes, entry passes etc. He’s one of the best at throwing one handed off the dribble passes to cutters as well as pushing in transition and finding open shooters. He’s also one of the best lob throwers, its too bad this clipper team doesn’t have too great of a lob threat, maybe KJM can develop in that role.
