he’s lost playoff challenges because of this. some obvious no call would happen and we’d be told that it wasnt reviewable cuz nothing was called. They decided to just say it was a late call but they definitely just decided to make up call it

I love me some Erik Spoelstra. I am one of his biggest supporters. I’m not like most of this fan base, who likes to place blame on him when things aren’t going well for the Heat – then fail to give him credit when he’s earned it.
But… and I am about to say something unpopular here (do your little downvoting if you wish) – but if he doesn’t like or agree with a particular call, and it’s reviewable/qualifies to be challenged – then he should use his damn challenge. Stop all the sideline antics , all the showing up of refs , running to the middle of the court to call time-out. Challenge the play. I know he likes to be strategic with the use of his challenges and save them for late-game situations, but if he doesn’t challenge plays earlier in games – relevant late-game situations where the Heat have a chance to hit a game winner or make a game winning stop may not even come up – because he didn’t challenge an earlier call that took away points for the Heat or gave the opponent points.
Among the many changes the NBA has made – they need to implement something to hold coaches accountable for unnecessary, extra-curricular behavior like that. Maybe start by taking away a timeout from the team – then a technical moving forward – after a certain amount of technicals received for that, suspension.
They aren’t going to always like or agree with refs but they don’t need to be shown up like that. Quite frankly, refs let him get away with too much.

Is that what they’re saying. They called the foul for the contact at half court?

Idk I think this is fighting the wrong battle here. White clearly got fouled; the ref blew the whistle late.
Feels like a late whistle on an obvious foul call is better than none at all. I’d rather the ref make the correct call than benefit from bad refereeing in general. Makes for a more watchable product.

Boston Celtics soft af, is all I gotta say

Yeah, refs do this. Happens a lot. Not saying it should, but it certainly does.

I watched that replay and I don’t even think the foul they called was a foul. I don’t see butler hit the forearm. I see derrick white shove butler, thats it?

I’ve watched so many game Ana so many calls and challenges and I’m hard pressed to list any calls made or reversed on plays that are in the past on other teams. I can name 3 at least on the heat. Probably more if I did some digging.
