His worst game of his career, possibly his only bad game in the last calendar year lol. Chet looked great on offense though.

Probably the worst game of his career. This game was always going to be a loss but I thought it was going to be competitive. I don’t think this changes much.

I might be misremembering but doesn’t Shai have an excellent mid-range game? It seemed like attacking the basket wasn’t working for him but he just kept doing it.

  4. Neuroxex

Shai contributed a lot to his own bad game, but also Nuggets perimeter defenders move together on a string and I don’t know a team that times help and doubles (and recovers) better right now.

Everyone is allowed a couple disaster classes.

Let’s see how much people overreact to 1 bad game

What being defended by Peyton Watson does to a mfer

Just couldn’t get where he wanted. It’ll be fine, definitely his one of the worst games he’s ever played. Chet and J-Dub were good!

  8. Rockstar408

First half he wasn’t even getting clamped, just missing shots like there was a lid on the rim. 3rd half though he got absolutely locked down though couldn’t get anything

  9. bearsquadz

he was mostly missing the shots he usually makes 99% of the time, with some good defense mixed in here and there from Watson and Braun

Denver is looking scary good this year. Really wouldn’t be surprised if they run through the west again and repeat.

Gotta be one of the worst games I’ve ever seen him play. The Nuggets had him in jail all night.

  12. ImGonnaChubbBradley

It’s because I bet on him to get 20+

  13. theglicky

well there goes the 1st week mvp candidate

  14. fishystixxx007

I’ll be honest I first read the minutes as the points and thought “hey that’s not bad” and then realized ….😳. He’ll be back up though, Nuggets are just a whole different tier when they all play well.

Can we start the narrative for a KCP all-defense nod this year? Helped to shut down Bane and Shai in back-to-back games. And he has a combined 12 steals/blocks through three games.

  16. Wasnt he allowed to use his off arm to push his defender off like usual or what?

  17. Battle123axe

praying on a Trae young good game today just so we can stop yapping about first 3 game performances

  18. Afraid-Department-35

He was 0-10 with zero points until the 3rd quarter. Bad game is an understatement.

is this your future MVP, r/nba ?

  20. deflatethesack

He’s clearly terrible. They should trade him to the lakers for a 2030 second rounder

  21. ScrewuGuysImGoingHme

This feels like the first bad game he had against us he usually kills the nuggets

  22. Probably speaks to how good Denver are defensively now because Shai was excellent against them last season.

  23. Necessary_Initial350

Nuggets defense has looked incredible so far.

Reason I’m not concerned even though no denying it’s a really rough night for Shai.

    1. it’s Denver, they’re fucking good
    2. He still managed 7 assists and 1 steal with just 2 fouls and no turnovers. Not to oversell it but I think in a blowout this early in the season, it’s better to go 2-16 and 0-4 as the Star opposed to 2-9 0-2 and then just idling. Need to let this wake them up for a good season, this is what a championship team looks like and it’s definitely credit to the Nuggets defense that Shai was thrown off.
    3. Most of all Shai has over the years proven to just be that kind of guy that takes accountability head first and doesn’t try to avoid it or ignore it.
    4. I will never forgive Jokic for the game winner in 2019. He didn’t need to do that, freaking jerk.
