Don’t know much about him but if you’re interested I’d say just give him a shot, people don’t necessarily need credentials to know what they’re talking about

Sliwa is San Diego guy who got the radio gig through his work on ESPN LA marketing.
I like his stuff sometimes. Usually got a good eye on what’s wrong with the Lakers. Not Xs and Os heavy but he’s pretty chillin his coverage.

Tried some of his stuff in the playoffs and offseason, and my impression is he is a worse version of Trevor Lane. More of a fan than an analyst. Stopped being able to take him seriously when he predicted that Hayes should and would be the 5th starter right before preseason.

He has a morning show on ESPN LA (Travis & Sliwa) and does pre-game Lakers coverage on the radio.

Check out Hoops Tonight with Jason Timpf. It’s not a 100% Laker pod, but he analyzes every Laker game as he’s a Laker fan.

Yes, Sliwa is very knowledgeable. He’s done the lakers postgame on 710 for the past few years. Basketball is his favorite sport too, he loves the game. He works at 710 with Sedano, John Ireland, and the rest of the ESPN LA crew. Has a media pass so yeah he’s got credentials. Always has a good awareness of what’s going on with the lakers and what issues need to be addressed

He can’t pronounce Pelinka. He says Palanka. Kills me every time

He’s balding… I mean balling.

He’s a Laker fan with a level head. I’ve listened to his postgame shows and while he doesn’t offer deep insight, he doesn’t throw out stupid hottakes either. I can’t listen to his ESPN morning show because his cohost Travis knows literally nothing about basketball, he only barfs up the latest Screamin A or Cowturd opinions.

Lakers Film Room and Cranjis are the best Laker podcasts, Laker Nation is listenable. Zach Lowe is solid but he has to repeat the company line so he’ll pay lipservice to whatever narrative ESPN is forcing before moving on to more interesting takes.
