[Bradeaux] Alperen Şengün is now the youngest center in NBA history to reach 500 assists. He is about 300 days younger than when Nikola Jokić did it.

For further context, Jokic did it in ~3500 game minutes. Sengun did it within 3800 minutes.

Sengun taking like 10% longer while being even younger is still really good. Who knows if he will reach that same ceiling, but Baby Jokic is pretty fitting at the moment.

What was Jokic’s usage like his first three years?

Looks like Sengun had higher usage his rookie year but lower his second year compared to Jokic. So overall on a per minute basis it’s probably a wash or close enough

If you try to normalize second year assist counts by usage then Jokic comes out ahead by a bit. I never watched that team so idk how many of his touches came through hand offs
