We’re sending a message to the entire league tonight, let’s get it.
I am excited about the Grant Williams v Jokic matchup. To me… the key to tonight’s game is defending Joker 1 on 1. He kills double teams and Denver kills teams with ball movement. Jokic can give us 60 for all I care but 10-12 assists to go with his scoring kills teams. No one stops Jokic but I think Grant can make him take harder shots. We have defended him with Powell for years but the best we have defended him was the Boban years… again I know no one stops him but Boban was a tall brick wall. Grant does not have the size but he is physical enough to not get muscled deep. If our guys stay close to their assignments then Jokic passing over Grant won’t be a huge issue. I know people will think I am crazy but there are sacrifices that have to be made when defending great players. Mavs have a better chance to win with a Jokic line of 50-11-3 over a 29-15-13.
If Green or our guards can harass Murray it should be a good game. I do not think with less space Reggie Jackson, Aaron Gordon, and Michael Porter will kills us. Those guys destroy when they have the space Jokic provides.
