I won’t even count Simmons because he actually was a perennial star when he signed his.
Some of these guys are better than others. All of them have significant weaknesses. None of them I would call perennial stars.
The thought that only perennial superstars, of which there’s maybe 5 at any given time, deserve a max deal is long long dead. Teams have stupid high salary caps to give out so they do it

I’ve said it before….he’s been asked to play 4 different roles in 4 different years. Nurse doesn’t want him to stand around and shoot 3’s. His game has always been mid range and when he was aloud to do that he was a borderline all star. His contract blows but that’s not his fault. I’d sign that shit too.

FVV got max money this off-season. I’d bring back Tobi at anything less than ~30m a year preferably. He’s a good player regardless of what some say. Tobi does everything at an above average level, nothing at an elite level. You need guys like that
