  1. It’s hard to beat the same team twice in a row in the NBA, especially if they are desperate for a win. That being said, it would be hilarious if the grizzlies leave Portland down 0-7.

  2. Shaedon Sharpe:

Higher ceiling than Dame or Clyde. Not as high as Roy.

Man…how Cronin manage to flip Nurk for DA . That’s some front office wizardry right there. This dude looks like a DPOY candidate out there. Major impact

I’ve been hugely critical of Chauncey but I have to give him props for closing with Sharpe in OT – it would be really easy for him to have him stand in the corner while Grant or Brogdon ISO over and over (especially after sharpe turned the ball over on the 1st possession of OT) but we didn’t see that.

Im also cautiously optimistic on the defense. It helps that our last 3 opponents are completely and utterly incapable of spacing the floor and shot horribly from 3, but you only can play the teams in front of you and we’ve looked good on defense. We’ll see what happens when we play a team with shooters, but there’s no denying the defense has looked good the last few games.

I also think it helps that Ant and Scoot are out so Chauncey’s switching all the guard/guard and guard/forward screens can work because there’s no real easy mismatch hunting like we’ve seen the past few years – be curious to see what the defense looks like when they come back.

I love seeing players keep their head on a swivel, Sharpe seems to have that as his best instinct. He’s always tracking something and reacting fast.

It would a been easy to turn and see Kennard a half second later and just not respond, but he saw the pass immediately and knew exactly where it was going, leading to the best block of the season

In the game prior, he got that easy dunk off the baseline cut, ur as soon as he got the ball, he snapped his head to the side to see if Asuar was still on him (he wasn’t), and to see if the help defender got there in time to contest (he didn’t). But it was so fast I don’t think it’s appreciated

  7. Every time I went to turn the game on TV, the Griz went on a run, and the Blazers looked like shit. I turn it off, they win.

    You’re welcome.
