So far, Deni Avdija is cooking in this season (6 games played) – 13.7 PPG on 56.9% (9.7 FGA), 50% 3PT (2.7 3PA), 72.7% FT (1.8 FTA), 5.7 Rebs (1.7 Off. Rebs), 3.3 AST (1.2 TOV), 1.0 STL, 0.2 BLK, 2.2 PF and a +/- of -8.8 in 24.2 MP. Hopefully, he’ll remain consistent throughout the season.

We should be way more excited. He has an opportunity to really step into a role on what is effectively a G League team. This is the perfect situation for a guy like him. I hope he becomes legit

He still hasn’t proven anything yet. If you add this year and last year’s 3pt percentage its still worse than his second year. He has had similar stretches that were only slightly less efficient. If he did fix his shooting this is what it would look like but its too early to tell.

I still think he could be an allstar in a couple of years but we need more. Its also alarming how few shots he’s taking. If he keeps this up his usage rate will skyrocket.

The reason I feel confident this year is going to be different for him, is because of 2 main factors:

    1. His 3pt shooting form looks MUCH better, the arch is much better and it just looks more fluid.
    2. His body language is different than previous seasons, he looks more calm and collected, more focused on what he can do and gets less bothered by things he can’t control like shitty ref calls or stupid teammate mistakes, and he looks much more confident in himself overall.

he has oftentimes looked like the best player in the team so far this season. he is 22 years old. i hope he can keep being great.
