So this is a post January 15th deal we came up with when I was working in Miami and got to talking to a couple Heat fans. Both Malcom and Matisse would be fantastic in South Beach. Portland gets Lowry to help Ant/Scoot, they get to try out Robinson while Rob is out, and add that 2027 first with Jovic who’s still intriguing. The first is a few years our and could be a more than decent pick if the Heat need to start their rebuild by then(Jimmy should be cooked at that point).

So we get a couple of junk players, lowry’s bloated ass contract, and a single pick. I’d look elsewhere for sure.

Lmao. Yeah I’m sure Miami fans LOVE that trade. Brogdon himself is worth more than that. Don’t listen to heat fans they are delusional about value of players.
I’d argue that Matiss’s value is a couple of 2nd round picks by himself, but if you package him with another quality player like Brogdon his value goes up.
I’m wanting atleast 2 firsts for these guys along with something else. And this package has nothing appealing.

Jovic and especiRobinson are interesting to me. I think we should be able to get a better return elsewhere, but I don’t hate this trade nearly as much as others. I do think we probably avoid dealing with Miami in any way anytime soon though. Lots of bad blood in both directions.

I get it, but Lowry is an expiring, and we get off Thybulle’s money. Robinson and Jovic are probably C- prospects, so adding a first, setting the guard rotation with Ant/Scoot/Shaedon and clearing the deck for Toumani at SF. I like this deal only if our priority is making a run at the play-in next season. Robinson is better than Brown and Reath with a bit of potential upside. Jovic becomes our only foward that’s 6’10″+ . I understand the negativity. Redditt is not a great place to post trade ideas since we tend to over value our players until the moment their dealt or let go. This removes about 20 million from next years cap. This is why I only post trades that involve another teams fan recommendations. It’s at least interesting to see how other fan bases value certain qualities.
We need to be taking on bad contracts with extra assets attached, not looking for expiring contracts. We arnt looking to sign free agents anytime soon.
