Reading in between the lines here – it’s very interesting to me that Jake is being transferred and not Junior.

Somebody’s gotta go in 18 games so we can keep Bizzy… Junior seemed like the easy option but he was a big spark in the Portland game. Jake hasn’t done anything except vomit all over himself this season.

What are your thoughts? I know Junior is beyond the most logistical candidate, but if they’re prioritizing him over Jake in efforts to win games right now, do you think it will be the opposite in a month?

Lot of FOMO from when these guys actually had trade value, pretty clear to me at this point that Jake’s not an NBA player.

Gotta hope you can package these guys to a team trying to unload later on I guess.

I can’t really think of any of the young guys I’d actually want to keep at this point. Not counting GG since he’s a rookie. Roddy maybe. Sucks.

  3. How much salary are we eating by cutting Jake instead of Lofton? Everyone says Lofton is the most likely to go but, is there really no one else contract-wise that we can cut besides Lofton that wouldn’t hurt our cap? Would like to keep him if possible. Seemed like Jenkins had given up on Lofton at first but here recently, it looks like there could actually be some vital use of him. We need bench buckets!

Just remember we traded up to draft Laravia. The pick we traded away was used to draft Walker Kessler who looks about as good as a 2nd year center can look.

  5. Good. Both of these guys need serious burn in the G-League before seeing another minute on the NBA floor. I’ve never watched much Vince, but he’s looked really, really bad in his time on the court this year. Jake hasn’t looked much better, but he’s at least shown flashes during last season – playing hard, making cuts, hitting a 3 here and there. I still think he can be that Jitty 2.0 that we really need, but again he’s not looked good recently. You have to feel for these guys though, they obviously have the talent, but it’s hard to improve and get into a rhythm when you aren’t getting consistent minutes. Hopefully some time with the Hustle will get them playing more consistently and confidently.

What bum Jake is. Too much time spent on trading cards

  7. I’m assuming that Jr. Has surpassed Jake as the #14 man.

P.S., I’m still bitter about us taking Jake over Walker Kessler. I said it the night of the draft we had most of what we needed, but needed another true big on the roster and to take over for adams because I didn’t think he was in the long term plan.

P.P.S. I hate that the NBA doesn’t have an IR like the NFL. I know the system was abused before, but with two way contracts, it should be brought back in some fashion. It’s dumb AF that Stevens takes up an active roster spot even though we already said he’s done for the year.
