It's the fourth game of the season, the Jeremy Sochan experiment question is idiotic. It might make sense in December, but sample size is way too small to suggest to Pop that your opinion is it's not working out and a follow-up. Then when upbraided he tries "What's*his* headspace?" … meaning Jeremy's. Pop's right to say "Ask him."
Pop was ruthless.
Jeremy is having a really tough time, you think he needs pop saying he sucks right now? That won’t make Jeremy any better, it helps nobody.

I've recently criticized Pop for being unnecessarily nasty towards journalists, but this time they deserved it. I loved how he defended Sochan against that judging journo. I understand how fans can sometimes be irrational or miss a bigger picture. But a sport journalist focusing on basketball? Not only do such questions decrease confidence of a player who has been PUT in such a position by coaches (not his decision), but it also sabotages any encouragement efforts coming from the same coaches. Sochan might be among those in the most challenging position in the Spurs: he is in the second season and instead of building on his strenghths developed last year he needs to quickly adapt to a new role while still taking on the best players from the opposing team defensively. Coaches clearly want him to play this way to increase his bag and DEVELOP him as a player for the future, which will be useful for the team even with classic PGs in charge of the game. Has everybody forgotten that the team is in development? You cannot develop without going through the process. The team IS going through that process and the wins are not necessarily the ultimate goal. The learning is. For all of those players. So it's also not about passing all of the balls to Wemby, even if that has a chance to bear more fruits, as all of those other players need to grow as well to be ready for play-off battles in the following years.
This dude opens his mouth to shit on Sochan and he expects Pop to be nice to him. You're shitting on a 20 year old who had 3 games at point and doesn't even play 30 minutes at point he plays like 15 minutes. Pop needs to protect his players

These interviews are quite silly. Why don’t we interview doctors or dentist after they perform. How would an after-work interview be for a singer or actor?
