Overall our newbie is comparing pretty well to some all-time greats here. I picked Kareem to go along with our other two #1 Spurs picks since he’s got the most similar build among consensus top-5 #1 picks all time.
One thing to note is that although these other three rookies improved somewhat over the course of the season, Wemby is years younger than all of them so naturally has even more room to get better in his first year. He said he wants to have the best rookie season of any #1 pick all time and statistically, he’s not far from being on track.
