[Feigen] Rockets center Alperen Şengün (sprained left ankle) questionable to play against the Pelicans. He turned the ankle in the 1st quarter last night, but stayed in the game. Zion Williamson (personal reasons) is questionable. He has played 4 games against the Rockets in his career.

I was afraid of this… honestly if he needs to sit a game to get the ankle right then I hope he does. It’s a long season. At the same time, I hope he wakes up tomorrow feeling 100% and continues his rampage leading the Rockets to a 5th straight victory. 🤞

Pelicans just got blown out by the Timberwolves who statistically look like one of the best teams in the NBA, with a league-leading D. We are more well-rounded, with better O and less D, but both still solidly above-average. They were without CJ and Zion, so it was just Ingram, Valanciunas, and company.

Hopefully Sengun is okay and the injury isn’t too bad. But if he’s out by necessity or caution, and if Zion doesn’t play, I still feel pretty good going into it. Granted, Cleaning the Glass has Sengun as our 2nd best player in terms of On/Off (Dillon is slightly ahead), so his loss would be major. But we still have Brooks and FVV at 1st and 3rd respectively, plus Tari and everyone else.

Would be an interesting experiment to see how we’d play without Sengun at all and see how the lineups and playstyle change. Hoping Jock isn’t too bad? Small ball with Uncle Jeff? Jabari at C to be like Myles Turner?

No Sengun for no Zion should be better than even trade for us on paper but Sengun looks like the more indispensable player. If Jock cannot match up with Jonas, we’re gonna be pretty screwed. Not sure if Jabari can’t defend him or are we gonna be forced to play Boban

I think they will sit Sengun for this game just to see how Jabari looks at the 5 but also as a precautionary measure. With Tari back we might see Jabari at 5 and Tari at 4. I would not be surprised if Rockets blow out the Pelicans without Sengun.

  5. Think he sits nd we should recall whitmore, if jock just gona play small jeff at C n bobon as back up but he can only.play so mucg. While, tari, tate, n whitmore to play some small ball or pf with bari at the C. Idont c anyother bigs on our team, samuels n williams are to short, but hopefully Alp wakes up magically no pain tomrow

ngl we need sengun to guard valenciunas or he will eat us down low (pause). jock at 5 is atrocious and jabari isn’t big enough to do much to him
