‎Laker Film Room – Dedicated to the Study of Lakers Basketball: 28th on Offense on Apple Podcasts

I listened to this yesterday. My takeaway is there’s something fundamentally wrong that the team does their 5-Out so the player doesn’t get into the right rhythm. That’s a coaching problem. Feels like Ham doesn’t utilize his players to their strengths and weaknesses. Thoughts?

  1. Bad at shooting. Which should mean Lakers get a lot of offense rebound chances… but they don’t because of the awful 5-out offense they have going.

Bad at defense. Which is why teams are shooting pretty decent against them. Also, terrible screen navigation leads to switching… which leads to way too many times of Austin or D-Lo guarding Bigs and getting scored on.

Bad at boxing out. Which is why other teams are getting so many 2nd chances.

Lakers are the the worst 1st Quarter team. Lakers are the Worst Team at giving up 2nd chance points. Lakers are the worst 3pt shooting team.

Injuries suck… but Holy Shit it’s been a rough fucking start for the guys on the floor.

  2. Reinforces my belief that the roster isn’t the problem
