Mmm Mazzulla on that lunch pail tip.

  2. SiakamClears

He plays the right way, scrappy gym rat, first in last out type of guy.

  3. Mission_Pay_3373

He is shooting 45% from 3. He is a sniper

Unironically there are definitely racial stereotypes that are attached to players at times

For example Jeremy Lin was very quick and fast but lacked good technique(could only dribble one way) and yet most people saw it as the complete inverse of that in large part because he was Asian

With white players I’d say the main stereotypes would be (positive) good shooter and (negative) bad defender

It’s similar how there will be stereotypes attached to black players in majority white sports such as baseball but flipped due to the demographics of the NBA

He’s a white boy and he’s jacked. Deal with it.

Hes genuinely a good defender that gets targeted in ISOs because hes white lmao

  7. zgamer200

Hauser has the good ol’ “white shooter who can’t play defense” reputation when he’s actually turned himself into a surprisingly solid defender(he also seems to be a fair bit stronger this year than last).

Celtics fans will sometimes call it the “Hause Trap” when opponents try to ISO Hauser and fail, which also sometimes makes their offense as a whole stagnate because they kept on trying to attack the supposed weak link of the Celtics’ defense multiple times to no avail.

  8. Rooleet

This dude deliberately butchered the context to add his own lame joke in. It was specifically in response to Hauser’s defense, not his 3 point shooting.

  9. granttheginger

I bet its because of his work ethic. I heard he’s a real first guy in, last guy out type of player

Weiss is a clown i love that Joe calls out the trash media in boston he was asked about Sam defense and his reply Joe Mazzulla on Sam Hauser’s defense: “I think he’s a much better defender than people think. I can’t say why or else I’ll get in trouble.” he’s talking about defense not him as a player as a whole.

LUNCH PAIL, FUNDAMENTALS, RUNS THE FLOOR

  12. PML3107

He’s got that extreme class and sneaky athleticism and hustle you want from that 7th guy off the bench

  13. everyonegetopineyike

    Just been promoted to jerker

  14. Brady331

other teams think they can target him on defense

  15. messyartshooter

so let me get this straight. as a white player you either get underrated or overrated

  16. Joe Mazzulla on Kelvin Benjamin, who was very full tonight: “He’s a much better eater than people think. I can’t say why or I’ll get in trouble.”

  17. jonnybravo76

Makes me sick to say it but man the Celtics are obscenely loaded. Their top 7-8 is damn near perfect team building.

  18. Justdoingthebestican

Putting aside the jokes (lol) i feel like Hauser is seriously disrespected at defense sometimes. Guys go at him like it’s an auto bucket and he’s pretty solid

  19. airmagswag

Was watching a game last year on the other teams broadcast and a player switched onto Sam and their broadcaster goes “now this is the guy you want to find on the matchup” and Hauser immediately got a stop and steal

  20. Ninneveh

    Mazzula: Sneaky athleticism is underrated.

  21. Naismythology

There’s a whole movie *and* a recent remake with the “why” in the title. You’re probably fine, Joe.

  22. For a while I thought that was legit Hayward back in Boston

  23. Plays the game the right way, sneaky athletic, high IQ, solid fundamentals and a hard worker too.

  24. jeffhplays

Dudes a monster off the bench this year

  25. DankTriangle

Legit thought I was in r/nbacirclejerk

  26. RedMalone55

Joe does know he’s in Boston, right? They’d love it if you point out why.

  27. TBP42069

Legitimately one of the dumbest NBA head coaches of all time

  28. Gfunkual

Pretty sure the actual quote was ‘I can’t say white or I’ll get in trouble’

  29. XmasCarolusLinnaeous

Our yt bros must be freeed from their shackles

  30. Map_Cal_py

Maybe I’m crazy, but I always thought the Celtics had in Hauser a Danny Green lite type player -> or at least close to it.
I don’t think he’ll reach that ceiling in Boston, but I’d love to see him on my Spurs to see what he can really do.
