  1. Strange-Committee-55

Randle + pick swap + second round pick for Zach and some Random pf they have

  2. TheDonNegrito

Grimes, Fournier and a first. Instant upgrade.

  3. confuddly

I’d be down to trade Grimes for him, but his camp already said he doesn’t want to be in NY

  4. saltyalertt

    He doesn’t impact winning

    Randle does

It’s simple. Do not trade for Lavine.

Besides they are asking for way too much

  5. I feel like the Lakers are going to find some way to fleece them out of either Lavine or Demar(Probably Demar). Max Christie + Kwame Brown + 2nd round 2059 draft pick for both.

  6. GoldenBoyRecords

Lavine makes 40M so to make a trade work we would have to get to at least 35M

  7. WorldWideBeats

I wouldn’t be mad at it if we trade the right people, he seems to be having a slower start to the season as well so maybe we could buy a little lower than normally, we need somebody with some fucking length, he is making $40 million this year though so not really sure how we get him without giving up one of our main core guys

  8. Boring. Especially losing grimes. I guess if iq is out the door anyway. I have rj currently untouchable, I’ve never seen him playing better basketball.

  9. AfricanUnity

Only players that are untouchable are RJ and Brunson . Zac would do great in New York

  10. Zach LaVine reminds me a lot of Wiggins – talented scorer, mediocre defender, and best-suited as a #2 or #3 option on a good team.

Problem has been and will be his contract that averages out $45M/year over 4 years. It’s the same problem with KAT – they’re not scrubs, but when you look at their salary/performance they’re not starting any bidding wars.

  11. deuce_and_a_quarter

Age old question: how do we give away as little as possible and get the most back. And my answer is…. 🤷‍♂️. If we give away IQ, are we confident with Duece stepping up or DVa sharing 2nd line PG duties?

  12. Anyone advocating for a LaVine trade needs to understand it would be to replace RJ. This is a hard pass.

  13. That_Rutabaga_3530

Just wait for Spida if we want a scoring guard who plays mid defense. Way better option

  14. heliumointment

i like lavine, but i don’t think there’s a trade that works. we don’t have the picks to entice chi, and we don’t have contracts that are bad enough to match his $40M.

just hypothetically if you throw them RJ, Fournier, and some 1st rounders (most are never gonna convey)—we gain like 3-4 PPG on average, and (historically) some more scoring efficiency

and i know lavine *thinks* he’s the best on-ball defender in the league but, uh—he ain’t

feels like a basically lateral move that gets us fractions better with a not great contract

i mean say we **did** trade for him—if his numbers stay as-is, would you max him in 2 yrs? i wouldn’t…

  15. Would have to be for Randle but we don’t need mother guard

  16. smileyfrown

The more impactful player for the Knicks roster is probably Caruso (although we’ll still be small)

Lavine would have to adjust being a 2nd option behind Brunson and then more importantly take shots away from RJ who is in a Critical phase of development

Not to mention how would Randle adjust with Lavine taking shots away from him as well? Randles already down this year with his efficiency, he’s not a spot up shooter can the Knicks have enough playmaking to utilize all 4 guys?

Not sure Lavine is that guy

  17. and1spree

Do we really need to rehash this conversation again? Regardless of whether fans want him or not (I personally do not), the front office does not appear to be interested in B-level stars and has never made a move like this so I’ll believe it when I see it.

  18. Good for them, or sorry that’s happening. Hope they figure that out and it doesn’t involve us.

  19. mattr1198

Absolutely not. Doesn’t make enough of a difference for us and has never been a winning player. Unless we can get him for only like IQ, Sims, and some first round picks, hell no.

  20. Teewrecks7

Yes a team full of second and third options..cool stuff lol

  21. minecate3

Did anyone actually watch this dude in the playoffs? No way

  22. FlockingPigeons

It doesn’t make sense anymore with RJ’s improved level of play. This isn’t the offseason anymore and every game RJ plays is solidifying his status. The Bulls are going to be forced to take pennies on the dollar for him. 2 protected 1sts, 1 rookie scale contract, and expirings to match is my prediction. The main reason being his contract is hard to absorb.
