    Shaq doesn’t understand the concept of multiple tournaments 🤦🏽‍♂️ silver literally mentioned it’s not better than the nba championship, but it’s still something to compete for like in soccer when you compete for multiple tournaments. Every player still tries their hardest in each of those tournaments. Shaq don’t know what he talking about

    Actually this is a good idea to keep players and coaches focused, and to keep fans entertained!! Cuz 82 games is a really long boring period!!! It only becomes interesting during the last few games were everyone is figthing for top 8 positions to get into the playoffs
    So for me this is a good idea, plus d players make some extra cash

    Totally respect SHAQ being old school but look into bigger picture IN SEASON TOURNAMENT still counted to season to grab that prestigious LARRY O'BRIEN TROPHY at the same time mix of KNOCK OUT CUP. Myself i'm being big fan of soccer and NBA its like champion league for me tuesday and wednesday now NBA gave me tuesday and friday. Get that half million boys and be that GIANT KILLERS.

    College and NBA are different though. In college, winning tournaments means some NBA scout might see you. If you are already in the NBA, its not the same.

    Shaq so dismissive and set in his ways. Its something new dude, its bringing hype around for the beginning of the season because it be so boring. Just relax and enjoy.

    They should give out +5 regular season Win advantage for the winner. Not too much to change the season but could be huge advantage for the standing for the play in tier teams to go all out mid season

    I really don't understand the point of a tournament when it's all the same teams playing yet again. There's a point to mid-season tournaments in a sport like football (european football) where teams from lower leagues get a chance to play against bigger sides, and every now and then cause an upset, plus the fact that most of those tournaments are treated as opportunities for players who might not be regular starters for their clubs to get a chance to shine. But this is just more of the exact same that you get night in and night out during the regular season, with a dash of colour added in.

    I think its stupid, the NBA need stop trying to fix things that aren't broken, they already added the play-in, giving teams that didn't do enough during the traditional regular season to make the playoffs a chance to knock off the teams that actually did enough in 82 games, a lot of this feels very orange slice-y

    Scratch it’s like College 😎 Try to make it like Champions League in EU Soccer !! Then do 8 teams from NBA and 8 teams from other leagues like Euro League 😉

    No one is saying it’s the same as the Larry but it’s still an accomplishment. Damn why Shaq needs to always stick to the old school. Tbf I don’t like European football but that’s where this in season tournament comes from and for them it matters, not as much as the fun as the final season result but it does and it will for the NBA as well, just give it some time

    I don't think people will really care until the knockout games happen. It's gonna be like an NBA elite 8.
