Theis is gone
ESPN Sources: Veteran center Daniel Theis has agreed on a contract buyout with the Indiana Pacers and now plans to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers assuming he clears waivers. Clippers recently lost backup C Mason Plumlee to a sprained MCL for several weeks. pic.twitter.com/m5y55TwQ9q

Hopefully Pacers give Theis the ring he deserves.
Wish we could have gotten some form of compensation, even the slightest. Seemed likely tho. Wish him the best!
I don’t love paying people to leave
He was a good dog
Happy for him and the Clippers need him more then we do its gotta be tough for a player to want to play but know it’s not gonna happen do to timeline he was good in the world cup and stayed professionals salute. 🫡
We definitely signing Lance
Clippers need him
I’m glad. Was getting a little tired of people begging for him to play. He hasn’t looked good in his limited mins and I don’t think it’s a coincidence that no one was willing to give up anything of value for him.
How could we not get a 2nd round pick or something?
GL. Seems like a true professional. He just didn’t have a role for Pacers and would have only fetched like a 2nd. Allowing him to select his own path is good business
Who is his agent, could be a favor leading up to something in the future, or we just wanted the roster spot for other things to come
Edit: I think he has the same agent as PG…
Bring up Oscar!
Really like Theis. Even liked him when he was in Boston. Hate the Clippers, but hope he has success personally while they continue to lose.
He didn’t fit what the Pacers want to do: run, run, run and let the (two) bigs (who can shoot) shoot from range. Those aren’t Theis’s game. I think they kept him as that “veteran bench presence” but he wants to play and I’m not sure we need to fill that particular role with the growth of the guys we have and the addition of Bruce Brown.
I hope they add a post because we desperately need one if Sticks is out for any length of time (that is, even one game). Jackson ain’t it. He’s fine for a few minutes (decent defense decent rebounding) but his inability to hit free throws and consistently finish at the rim are painful to watch. Maybe Oscar, but I’m not sure he is even an upgrade for Jackson at this point despite being G-League Superman.
Kind if crazy considering what happened to Jalen so now I guess it’s tshiebwe as our 3rd string center?
I think this must be a favor. Strange we couldn’t even get a second round pick.
Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened
I saw Theis was out for personal reasons and was gonna make fun of people thinking there was something deeper than that
Well shit I guess my intuition was right for once
Always good business to be seen as a team that works with players. Hope Theis can find some PT at another team. Seems like a nice guy who bought into the team and was a pro the entire time.
Surprised this occurs today with Jalen in the hospital
Time to retire #27! Thanks for the 9 games of service!
Best of luck to him 👍
People calling for a second rounder or two will probably get it at some point. Pacers had 3.5mil in cap room and probably just saved 1.5-2mil on the buyout. And now an empty roster spot. We’ll probably be the first port of call when a tax team wants to shed some salary.
