[K.C. Johnson] As far as LaVine remaining committed/professional: “I don’t take anything for granted. My time here has been nothing but wonderful. I’ve grown up here. I’ve raised a family here. Had some great memories. Hopefully, people understand that, how much I care about Chicago.”

It’s a shame because I genuinely like the dudes on this team as people. But their styles and skills on the court simply don’t produce winning and cohesion. Hope nothing but the best for them all though.

He gave it a shot here and thats all we can ask for. We certainly didn’t do him any favours with the teams we built and the coach we brought in. It’s best for all parties to move forward

    Chicago loves Zach

Reinsdorf should be the one apologizing for running such a sorry ass org

I will say this about Zach for a long time he was the only shining light during some really dark moments for the team. It sucks that the attempt to build around him failed but no one could say he never tried to make it work.

    No hard feelings.
Not his fault that this franchise put him in a role that he doesnt have the arributes to play for.
He also had no problems defering to derozan , in being the number one guy.
Thats what this team and zach need it.

They had the chance to draft that in 18 and 19 , and they missed it.

Hopefully Chicago doesn’t turn on him, during these times & after he is traded. He always tried to take the court (played through injuries & worked on strengthening his body to carry a heavier workload), he always repped & embraced playing in Chicago, and he is a damn good player who has grown before our eyes. The way the FO handled roster construction, during his tenure, has been tragic

All of that to isn’t to say he is without flaws, but even with his flaws… it was a pleasure to watch Flight 8, and to get a glimpse of his potential on a functional team (I miss you Lonzo <3)

There are a lot of past tense verbiage in this statement. Zach is done, and he knows it. At this point, why even play him and risk injury and trade value?

To me getting rid of Zach isn’t the answer. We should have never extended Billy. Zach hasn’t been consistent this year, but i also don’t trust this organization get back picks or players that will get to or exceed the level of player Zach is. Org is a dumpster.

What would help this team is a solid facilitator. Since Zo’s injury, they haven’t had anyone decent in that role.
If they had one, I believe this team would be less ISO minded offensively which means Zach would make less mind-boggling basketball decisions on the court.

Don’t let this shitty organization make you hate Zach. He doesn’t deserve it. He deserves nothing but love from us. He had HUGE shoes to fill with the role that they wanted him to be.
