Not having video evidence doesn’t mean it didn’t happen btw

  7. Moretalent

How you get hit by a car in center city unless you are staring at your phone?

  8. LostRoomba

Do we have photographic evidence of where Adam Silver was that night?

  9. fakeplasticsnow

Somehow the only thing more Sixers than a player getting hit by a fucking car is a player pretending to be hit by a car to cover for something worse.

God this team is so fuckin odd. Nico listed as out again today for “personal reasons” – just another weird day of sixers basketball.

If u look at the block, it’s a small side street with probably no cameras or reliable cameras. Plus, it was at night, so it’s a good chance someone could get away. But of course, this is Philadelphia, so we must jump to conclusions and think the worst.

You guys are ridiculous. Do you think every crime in this city is caught on camera? Even if this was “on camera,” many times the cameras are non-functional, or they’re recording to a database that deletes the footage in under 24 hours. Or sometimes the footage stays in the database for 48 hours but there’s no one on site who has access to it.

There’s a million different reasons why there’s no footage of this. And to cover another angle, even if he’s lying about this, it’s probably not to cover up something he did. He could’ve very likely been jumped and is embarrassed about it.

Sooo… how else can a person break all these ribs, injure his hip and leg that quickly? Maybe he just got the location wrong.

  14. kylebucket

Wasn’t this at Broad and Locust? There’s not a single camera on a primary intersection?

  15. ApoliticalAth3ist

Doesn’t mean they don’t have video of the car fleeing

  16. Chelli64

Did anyone even read the article for this? Police saying he may not have provided accurate account for where he got hit. The dude is new to the city and got his by a car, he probably doesn’t know where it happened

We’re going to need to see footage from Hi Spot Lanes in Manayunk that night. What’s that? It’s been torn down? …Suspicious…

Check 13th and Walnut cameras that’s where Woody’s is

This is weird because the Philadelphia Police department has been nothing short of a good-faith, honest-broker, crime solving machine since I moved to the city. Their lack of success in locating evidence is for me ironclad proof that a) this event was fabricated and b) the person (or people) known as Kelly(s) Oubre(s) is/are nothing more than the fentanyl-feuled fantasy of an out-of-control fanbase.

Sounds like bullshit and it SMELLS like bullshit. You’re telling the most monitored area in Philadelphia with police surveillance everywhere have nothing. This is some weird shit

Where’s Mandatory 4K when you need it?

  22. UpsideDownPoptart

Brian Colangelo called the hit 🤨

  23. jinntakk

lt might’ve been a salty Boston fan who was trying to fight him a la Jahlil Okafor. But he actually got whooped.

The only thing we know 100% for certain is the cops can’t find video evidence. And knowing how inept Philly PD are … that’s not really groundbreaking news.

Kelly was treated by medics ON THE SCENE and then transported to the hospital after the car made an illegal turn and it’s side mirror struck his chest and hip.

    The Inquirer reported this already.

I think it’s more likely that he was struck by a car and got the particular intersection incorrect, or that the cops just haven’t looked very hard for video – rather than some idea that he sustained the injuries beforehand and then what walked into the middle of the street and laid down and said he got hit by a car to make up a cover story?

  25. dragonrider5555

There was a lot of threads calling fans all sorts of terrible things for saying the story was suspicious.

The car took a left turn – and struck oubre in the ribs with the drivers side mirror. That is an unlikely injury…but possible

  26. dragonrider5555

How does he get the intersection incorrect? Won’t the EMT or the hospital know the place they picked him up? Couldn’t the news sources just get that info from him.

Was this after the game he got T-d up by the ref?

  27. IPA_lot_

Oubre got into a fight and probably didn’t want anyone to find out. So he lied to the police. Wonder if they will press charges for falsifying police records?

  28. HoagieTwoFace

I’m going to be very disappointed if this is a hoax. But not surprised.

  29. Jay-Kane123

Why do all the Kelly white knights not admit the wording is hella strange? Would they really say “we haven’t found evidence of a hit and run” if they believed his story?
