In 2022, the Pacers traded Malcolm Brogdon to the Celtics in exchange for 5 players. Aaron Nesmith is the only one that’s still on the Pacers today.

At the time it seemed very underwhelming but it has turned out to be more of the usual KP magic. Would much rather have Nesmith than Brogdon now, and I think many teams would feel the same

We also currently have OKC’s 2024 1st round pick from a trade with the Nuggets.

  3. Credit where it’s due, Nesmith was the guy the FO was most in on when the trade was made, & here we are a year later with him signed to a steal of a contract extension. You gotta love seeing a plan come together.

I like Brogdon but he was a terrible fit and couldn’t stay on the court. This is already a great trade (especially with the FRP we still have) and will only get better for us as Nesmith keeps adding to his game.

It’s to the point now that I celebrate whenever sports personalities think we got fleeced. KP is a whole lot smarter than Skip Bayless and Dan Dakich (maybe not saying much, but you know what I mean).

I forgot we acquired Nesmith this way. All is well that ends well! I love his game.

Plus the cap relief and allowing Hali to freely take over the team. Great trade.

Didn’t we get a pick on that brogdon trade too? Was that the one we used for Ben Sheppard?

Great trade considering how good he’s looked this year alone. 11/3/1 shooting 46% from 3 off the bench with good defense. That’s a core depth piece on a good team. If he keeps this up he’ll be a pacer for a while.

Brogdon is fine but he was an absolutely AWFUL fit for this roster and what we were trying to do.

Nesmith is a great fit for this team and I’m glad to see his game develop and take off with us.

No brainer win as far as trades go
