[Haynes] B/R Sources: Los Angeles Clippers star Russell Westbrook approached coaching staff about coming off bench to help accelerate the winning process. Terance Mann to start tonight against Houston Rockets.

When I hear these reports I always assume that the coaching staff made the decision but they don’t want to make it look like a demotion.
I love Westbrook tho and I hope it works out

Yeah it was definitely WB of all people who asked to come off the bench, in unrelated news, I have some prime piece of land on the moon for sale

I like that it’s just totally inconceivable to this sub that someone could actually reflect and change over time lol. Russ seems like a good guy and a team player who’s been humbled over the past few years, I don’t think there’s anything fantastical about the notion that he could have asked to come off the bench
DNP__Rest
Man i’d take Russ over harden any day of the week.
Smile_Miserable
I mean if they continue losing atleast he wont be to blame
vrkhfkb
They really should’ve kept one of Batum or Roco just for the size. Powell should’ve been gone.
Kawhi is being abused at the 4. And sometimes 5 when they go small. Mann ain’t gonna solve this issue.
PerformanceDry5635
Klay please do the same
aboooz
Goddamnit why did they have to realize it this game??
Frosted_Flakes1971
Wrong guy coming off the bench, but I think it’ll help
WetShots
Can’t wait to wipe these dudes off the court and they continue to implode
zt004
Let Harden come off the bench and own the second unit; he can take every single shot and still be judged less harshly.

“I’m not gonna get blamed for Harden playing like ass so I would like to play with him as little as possible.”

If they were a competent organization they would be playing Harden off the bench, Russ already has chemistry with Kawhi and PG
bradrthtyj
What playing 5 games with James Harden does to a mf
Djax99
Russ has a truly incredible character
The way he’s acted with the clippers has been extremely gracious. He has definitely matured and has bought in
xer3f
My respect for Russ only continues to grow
TroyMatthewJ
what a clusterf. When Houston is the better team you know you in deep.
marion_and_beau
Mann always should have been a starter, he’s such a good, low maintenance connective piece. The Harden trade was a desperate mistake.
chimpaman
The Clippers certainly won’t be the Western team playing against Westbrook on Miami in the Finals this season
PaulWilliams12
“to help accelerate the winning process”.
MFFL12_17
This might turn around the clips season. Great maturity on Westbrook.

Aye P
I said i gotta come off the bench
WhenItsHalfPastFive
Reported like it’s damage control. The guy is completely washed up and is ruining their offense. When he’s on the floor, someone else automatically gets doubled, defenses don’t respect him.
He isn’t really choosing this, he is kind of required to at this stage of his career.
Bombshock2
Russ coming off the bench is not it man. They need his pace. What they don’t need is Harden.
Icy-Lime-9760
Russ was playing so well in his role sucks that he has to be demoted now
Rydahx
Just when it looked like he was in a great place, it’s like he is back on the Lakers again.
Swarthykins
“Help accelerate the winning process” is a great term.
KangzAteMyFamily
Ive been wondering if the real solution is to bring Harden off the bench that won’t happen. Harden is as averse to change as we thought Westbrook was a couple years ago
BabyHercules
They low key don’t deserve Russ
gregyo
MAN I wish Amen Thompson was healthy. Most athletic backup PG matchup ever.
desirox
As admirable as that is, I don’t think that solves their problems. This team is now broken from a roster construction standpoint
Heterosapien_13
When it was announced that harden would be traded to the Clippers, I made a comment that this team would be a 42 win team this year. I was downvoted.
Now, it’s looking like even 42 wins might be optimistic.
